I missed you so much it feels gross. It feels wet. It feels nauseating. / I want to rip out my heart and shake it like a Magic 8 Ball. Is this okay, is this okay, is this okay, /
or does it make me weak?

RYAN JENNINGS has lived her life with three girls tethered to her — sisters that were so tightly woven together, it was almost impossible to break them apart. The rest of the story from there is complicated: shit hits the fan, because of course it does, and all of the sudden she's packing up her life to move south, away from all of the problems that plague her hometown.

And of course, there's a guy. She sees him once, and then sees him everywhere, like she manifested him straight from her thoughts about loneliness, sent to her straight from the sky. And of course this guy is her hallway neighbor, the one who comes in at weird hours and leaves for days at a time. Before Ryan knows it, she itching to get to know him — until the line between love and loss starts to blur, and she finds herself grieving a person that's still alive.

authors note: hi. it's kait. i know it's been a good long while since you've seen ryan and spencer, but they kind of live in my head rent free. if you read this during the criminal minds pit during covid, please know i appreciate you loving my kind of shitty teenage writing. i don't think i will ever have the energy or time to rewrite this, so enjoy it as what is it: a 17 year old girl writing from the depths of her bed during the pandemic about the character she loved for years.

btw, my writing has gotten a lot better than this, check it out?
