The security guard of Yokai Academy

Chapter 1

We finally got home at noon and put our weapons against the fireplace.

Y/n: "Stay here Rin, I'll.....get your lunch ready." I said.

Rin: "Can I help?!" she asks.

Y/n: "No....actually yes, I need.....you to cook the bird.....you caught." I said

Rin: "Okay!" she said cheerfully.

Rin followed Y/n into the kitchen were they prepared her lunch.

Timeskip 20 minutes 12:20am

We walked out of the kitchen, Rin, with her skinned and cooked bird meat and a cup of water, sits in one of the chairs. I walk outside and sit on the steps and think about my life and...well I miss my parents and siblings, but besides that life, with Rin makes me feel like I have something I would probably never have....a daughter. That and I feel nothing other than a need to be around her at all times, thanks to that book.

Rin: "Hey Y/n, watcha doing?" she said.

Y/n: "Ahh, oh god Rin you....scared me." I said.

Rin: "I'm sorry Y/n, I didn't mean too. I wanted to tell you I'm full." she said.

Y/n: "Did you eat everything?" I ask.

She nods her head

Y/n: "So if I look at your....plate, I will find.....nothing on it?" I ask.

She hesitated then nod again.

Y/n: "Okay." I said.

I stand up and she rushes inside and I slowly follow after her. When I get inside I see her stuffing her face with what's left on her plate and see it was almost done. She swallows some of it and starts coughing.

Y/n: "Hey take it easy, I was kidding." I said.

I look to see her cup and I grab it and handed it to her. She takes it and drinks some water and manages to swallow the rest of the food in her mouth.

Y/n: "Better?" I ask

Rin: "Better." she said.

I then take her plate and cup and bring it back to the kitchen and put it in the sink. Oh and that reminds me, we can't use the sink in the winter, because it freezes the pipes or something like that, and until it's spring or the weathers warm, we won't get any water from there. Which is why we use the buckets we found in the basement.

"I'm going to get more firewood for the week, alright. Stay here, I'll be Bach in about an hour or two." I said.

Rin: "Okay Y/n." she said from upstairs.

I then grabbed my axe walked out of the house and into the woods.

Rin POV

When Y/n closed the door and left the house, I waited a few seconds, then I went upstairs to my room. I walked in to see my radio that we have been using to listen to music and what's going on in the monster world. My favourite songs are two old ones called "Stay' in alive" and "Take me on", as well some new ones like "Just Dance" and "So what". I remember Y/n saying "the '70s and '80s were the best times for music, but it got weird in the 90's". We listen to the new music most of the time and we both enjoy most of it, but there are songs that get annoying after a while.

I got to my drawer and pull it open. Inside are five wooden masks, and they all resemble the top half of the faces of animals. There is a rabbit mask, a bird mask that wasn't done as well as the rabbit mask, this one was the first mask Y/n made for me for my birthday, and he was trying out wood carving. There is also a fox mask, a wolf mask, and a deer mask. I pick up the rabbit mask, which was my favourite because it was the first one I got from Y/n.
