I had a flashback when I was a human it was at my first opening ceremony at Yokai. We were all looking at the headmaster, who was giving a speech.

Headmaster: "It is an honour to have you all here as students at Yokai Academy. I would like to remind you all why Yokai was made in the first place. It is a school, made by monsters, for monsters to learn how to co-exist with humans in secret and to live in peace. I hope you all work together with each other to achieve peace in our time." he said.

As he finished speaking, I only had one thought: 'Is he high?'

The flashback ended and the headache stopped. I took my hands off my head and look at the photo.

At first, I thought he was off his meds, but when I found out this place is full of monsters, I believed what he said about peace in our time.

Y/n: "Heh, guess I was wrong." I said.

Anyway, enough about that, let's move on to something else.

I would usually go out into the woods to chop down a few trees, or hunt for animals, while Rin would either come with me to collect berries while I'm hunting or she would be at home reading the books in the library or from the Necronomicon. Now before anyone starts saying that killing animals is wrong, keep in mind: I don't need to eat or be warm since I'm already dead, and the food would just rot in my stomach. Rin on the other hand does, which is why we hunt for birds, deer, elk, hell I even brought back a bear a few times.

However, there are some kinds of monster animals, which are animals that are categorized as predators that are mutated, for instance, a mutated cougar, which is like a normal cougar, but with claws that can slice wood and skin that can probably take a hit to the body, depending on what it got hot with. There are other kinds of monster animals that are stronger, tougher, faster, and more savage than normal predators. A year and 4 months ago, I came across a monster coyote. It had sharp claws and amazing eyesight because I was minding my own business, hunting for elk when it came out of nowhere and attacked me by leaping towards me and knocking me down.

It ended with me getting severely scratched, cut, and bitten and the coyote with its head bashed in with a rock. I just left the body there, due to the ruin pelt and God knows what kind of side effects the monster meat could have on Rin.

At home, we've read all books in the library seeing as there was pretty much nothing to do besides that, hunting and helping Rin with her magic. Some of the books were helpful and taught us a few things, like sewing (which is how I was able to make her sarafan, as, for the belt, I found it in my closet). There were couple manuals about how to properly skin animals, cook animals, ways to keep them preserved for the winters, what berries poisonous or not (luckily the poison berries we would accidentally bring home only gave her the runs or a small fever, which can be cured by some food, and some sleep). As well as some magic books about basic spells, that can summon elemental things like small balls of ice, or making plants bigger.

I manage to set up a small target range in the back yard, for Rin to practice with her archery and magic. I would just place some wooden logs around the back yard and watch her try to hit them.

There is also a river to the west of here, where Rin and I would go to bring back water in buckets for her to drink and in the summer, spring and fall she would clean her self. Though in the winter, since the river would be frozen, I told her that she wouldn't be able to clean herself since that would waste the water. Of course, she didn't like that and started to get angry saying that she would stink. We argued for a few minutes, and then I told her to go to her room for the rest of the day as punishment. Thankfully the water isn't polluted or riddled with disease, or trash.
