Chapter 2

It's finally time for the first day winter break
No Krystal No redundant classes just me myself and I.
After what had to be an half an hour of trying to go back to sleep, I just get out of the bed,
But when I do I realize, this isn't my bed, or even my room to begin with
The first thing that runs through my mind is
"Did I get kidnapped?"
But that couldn't be it, if that was the case why would I have such a comfortable bed and why would I not be handcuffed to the bed or something, I then get up and head to the door it was made of wood like the rest of the room and it wasn't locked, as soon as I open the door I am immediately greeted by some maid
"Good morning Master!"
I am so many levels of confused right now
"Umm... good morning to you too... Where am I right now?"
"This is the Silver player Inn! I was appointed to your room after you were brought here unconscious" She reply's in a annoyingly giddy voice
"Wait where was I found?"
"I dunno, some wolfskin with an eyepatch carried you into here, he even payed for your stay"
"Wait what's a wolfskin and who brought me here?"
Suddenly I hear a voice come from the end of a hallway
"Well, to answer your second question, that would be me"
I'm dreaming Right? What looked to be some sort of wolf suddenly walks towards me with his hands? Paws? I'm not sure, whatever they are there in his pockets, he's got an eyepatch red and orange-yellow fur and what looks like the mercenary outfit from a tactics game I've played recently
"How... How drunk am I right now?"
I quietly question to myself
"Well I'd hope your sober since you decided to take a two day nap" The wolf says with a small smile
"T-two days!?, and wait how did you hear that?"
He tilts his head down and points to his ears, I probably should have pieced that together myself
"So where are you from anyway, I've never seen clothes like yours before" He questions starring at my Hoodie
I know you should never give your home address away to a stranger but I have zero clue on where I am, It feels like I have curse of the lost right now, eh at least it's not curse of the blind
"I live in a apartment in Shibuya" I say trying to sound confident
"Shibu-what now? I don't think I've ever come across a place named that" He responds in a confused tone
"Shibuya Japan"
"Nope"
Well this is going nowhere real fast
"You hit your head or something kid because I've never heard of either of those places and I've been all around Aréil"
"Great now I'm even more confused than before... and I'm also three days into my winter break... and I don't even know how many more problems I actually have"
"Well You look like your definitely in need of some help, so if you need some help jogging your memory and getting back home I'd be happy to help"
"First of all my memory is completely fine and second... I'd actually really appreciate the help"
"Great! The names Derrin Awen!, pleasure doing business with ya!"
We exchanged pleasantries for a bit and eventually agreed on meeting up in the inn lobby as he had to grab his things from his room
He looks scary as shit but has a positive but calm personality, these are typically the kinda guys you can trust, According to the manga I've read.
As I wait in the lobby I ask a number of people what things were, where this place is, the history of Aréil Etc.
Aréil's past isn't exactly wonderful though, the most relevant thing I could get out of people was that a murder happened of an past king and queen and they were supposedly super popular and the culprits were a group of "Fanged" which of course led to a lot of racism for them.
"Fanged" are human like Animals, like Derren that wolfskin from earlier, there are also other types of fanged like Kratz, a feline-esk fanged, Aeros which are birds and Aquils that are aquatic creatures.
Soon I notice Derrin walk into the lobby with another wolfskin with white fur and red spots and a MageKnight like attire,
He's kinda cute...
They both proceed to walk towards me and the white wolf proceeds to introduce himself
"Dads already filled me in on what's going to happen so we'll do our best to help you out, the names Kohan by the way!" he says holding out his hand
He's Derrin kid huh?
I also realize my phone is in my pocket, I check it quickly but as to be expected I have no internet or service so calling for help is out of the question
"Dammit I can't do anything with this..."
"Do you mind if I ask what that is?" Kohan questions
"I'm pretty curious on that too but we should get going" Derrin reply's
"Agreed, I'll explain it along the way"
"Sounds good to me" Kohan reply's cheerfully
And so we headed off, to where? I have no idea, but it's a much better idea than wandering alone, plus I need to find a way to repay Derrin since he payed for my stay and is helping me out right now
I explain my phone to them and how it worked and they both look at me like I'm crazy, but at the same time they're both intrigued by what I was saying, about two and a half hours of walking and things take an unexpected turn in a forest path
"Hold it, somethings near" Derrin says sternly whilst taking the Waraxe on his back into his hands
"Two wood elementals a banshee and a Marantula" Kohan delivers quickly
Suddenly what seemed to be a chunks of wood and leaves suddenly start to form together and create a golem like figure
"Isacc you know how to fight?" Derrin questions
"I mean I play a lot of fighting games if that's anything"
"So the answer is?" Kohan questions
"Kind of"
"Good enough for me" Derrin says as he passes me a silver katana
And suddenly something in my head just, Clicks, and for a moment I go silent
"Maragilo!" I barely hear Kohan shout
"Isacc move!" Derrin shouts running towards the golem readying to attack me,
I hold the katana with both hands and dash toward the enemy with immense speed cutting through the flames and annihilate one of the wood elementals
"W-what the hell was that" Derrin spouts out stunned by the concept of the force of my attack
I really just did that... I destroyed a golem with a single blow...
I start breathing heavily
"the only reason I did that... IS CUZ IM FUCKIN PISSED!!!" I blare out while charging at the other golem, and like with the other one I destroy the damn thing, but for some reason I couldn't let up and I just kept on Attacking the sliced log, it was slash after slash after slash until the the logs were just splinters.
Suddenly a spectral figure starts to rise from the ground and out of pure anger, I throw my sword at it, it spins uncontrollably but it just phases through it and gets stuck in a tree
"RAGHHHHHHH!!!" At this point I'm in a full blow rage with zero self control, I can't hear anything asides from my heartbeat and my breathing, all I could focus on is my sword and how quickly i could a annihilate anything in front of me, I quickly rush over to where my sword got stuck and notice out of the corner of my eye that the spectral figure I tried attacking was being engulfed by a light of some sort, and during that A blade of wind is thrusted by me cutting my check and since I still haven't learn my lesson I threw my sword again in the direction of the attack and this time I hear the sound of something getting impaled and the crying of whatever I hit, but even after that I still wasn't satisfied.
I run over to where I heard the cry and take the sword out of the creatures spider like body and start hacking at a nearby tree, and this in turn awakened some treants that weren't too happy with me just randomly assaulting there fellow tree family, and again out of impulse I attack those as well and cut them down to size.
slowly afterwards I start to regain my sense of hearing and drop to the floor clenching my head in pain against the corpse I just cut up
"Isacc!" I barely hear from the distance
My heart starts to slow down a tiny bit and I can control my actions once again
I look at the sword in my hand and quickly toss it away
What started as Complete and utter rage has now turned into Absolute Fear
"Isacc! Where are you!"
I couldn't muster up the strength to say anything, all I could do is hold myself in fear,
Eventually Kohan finds me
"H-hey are you okay" Kohan says in a concerned tone while putting his hand on my trembling shoulder
"y-y-Yea I'm f-fine..."
"Hey hey lets calm down now everything is gonna be okay" he reply's whilst pulling me in for a hug and rubbing my back
And somehow, this works, my heart starts to slow down I stop shaking so much and I start to breathe much more controllably than before.
How did he...
"Th-Thanks"
"No problem, it's our job to help you out, it's a mercenary's job after all" Kohan reply's jokingly
But I felt something else when he said that, but I'm not sure what it is.
He helps me back up and we start quickly find Derrin and start marching onwards again
"So... hey, Do you wanna talk about what happened earlier or..." Derrin asks
"M-Maybe a bit later, I , I just..."
"You don't have to say anything if you don't want to" he reply's
"Thanks... By the way where are we going?"
"Magi compass says Arktol, the capital city, there are tons of people there so you can probably find someone who knows something"
Kohan states while looking into a tome of some kind
"The suns setting we should hurry up before it gets dark" Derrin states
We agree and start to pick up the pace.
After about another hour we finally arrive in Arktol
"Huh, this is what it's like, I didn't expect it to be so... modern"
There were street lamps aligned the concrete sidewalks And somewhat 18th century English buildings.
"Look familiar too you?"Derrin asks
"Only from books I've read"
"Well regardless lets call it a night for now and start asking around tomorrow" Derrin reply's
Kohan nods in agreement
We all head to the one of the inns in town.
As Derrin was paying for the room i could see the pure disgust on the clerks face, and it honestly pissed me off, but I thought it would be best to stay silent.
And so the night finally ended, hopefully I find some answers tomorrow, about how I got here and what happened earlier,
I wonder if anyone I know wound up here as well...
