vampires originated from demons trying to escape hell. The way they escaped was possessing animals with fangs, their main target was the bat. Then they would hunt down victims of other animals including humans and bite them, infecting them with demon looking features (fangs, pale skin, etc). The vampire epidemic was active during the dark ages where people still had wagons and horses. Many believed the vampires were witches and tried to hunt them down. Then they all disappeared without a trace. Now in present day, the current vampires hide out in a unknown area (close to where dib and zim live) called Vampire Valley. They learned how to build houses and armies (one you may have heard of before 😉) to protect their people. Vik's mom use to live in Vampire Valley until she grew up and retired from serving in the army.
