"Lauren! You're going to spill the coffee!" Nicole cautioned. Lauren gave Nicole a confused expression look on her face on why she said that. As Lauren was walking back to the table to give the customer their coffee, she suddenly slipped onto the wet floor. Coffee was spilled everywhere, the hot coffee made the pain on Lauren's leg hurt a bit more.
As Lauren was looking at the mess, she saw that the customer had already left. "I'm so sorry Nicole! I didn't mean to spill the coffee," Lauren apologised. Nicole knew Lauren long enough to know that she wouldn't have done this on purpose.
"It's fine, Nicole said. "Well is your leg okay, I mean you did took a nasty fall with hot coffee that spilled onto your legs." she asked. Nicole realized that she'd had done nothing to help Lauren's injury. She dashed hurriedly to the nearest napkins and took large quantites to try and clean up the mess. Helping Lauren was Nicole's top priority so she helped her get up from the wet floor and assisted her to the closest chair.
Lauren just sat there hopless while watching Nicole cleaned up after her. "Nicole, is there anyway I can help?" Lauren asked. Nicole looked up and saw that Lauren wanted to help as much as possible.
"Sure you can help me clean up by... uh putting the dirty napkins into the trash can," Nicole said. Nicole got up and went to find the nearest trash can and moved it closer to Lauren. She wanted Lauren to do as little walking as possible to try and help out with her leg. Nicole handed Lauren a dirty napkin. Then, Lauren would try and throw the napkin into the trash can with little effort.
"How is your leg doing? Is there anything that you need?" Nicole asked as she was wiping the coffee off the floor with the napkins.
"My leg is feeling much better but I don't need anything." Lauren replied back. Lauren looked up at the clock to realized that thirty minutes had just passed by. She looked through the windows to see that the sun was starting to set.
"We should start heading out," Lauren suggested as Nicole finished cleaning up the floor. Nicole agreed that they should start leaving after what just happened.
Nicole helped Lauren get up from the chair and they started packing up. "Lauren do you need me to help you walk to your car?" Nicole asked.
"No, I'm fine but thanks for asking." she said. Lauren grabbed her phone, her purse, and her jacket from the counter. She waited for Nicole to get her belongings and they began to walk to the door.
As they were walking towards the door, the door opened. A man stood there in the doorway, clearly blocking their exit.
