[9:02 am]

Stan hurried to the door of his house and eagerly opened the front door. His mind was swarmed with thoughts as he walked into his bedroom and closed the door behind him before sinking to the ground and letting tears fall down his cheeks. Why Bill? Why did he see Bill when he kissed Patty?

He knew why well enough, he just didn't want to come to terms with it. Stan stood up forcefully and threw open his closet. He pushed his thoughts out of his mind and grabbed a towel and a change of clothes. He walked into his bathroom and turned the water up hot.

Soon, he got in and let the water burn away his thoughts. He let himself crumble under the water as salty tears mixed in with the hot water on his face. His curls were plastered against his forehead and his usually bright eyes were dark and filled with tears.

He told himself he was over Bill. He told himself that he couldn't be in love with Bill because Bill would never love him back. And Patty.. poor Patty. She didn't deserve this. Stan tugged at his curls and wiped the water from his face. I have to fix this. I can't be in love with Bill if he doesn't like me back. I can't do that to Patty. He thought angrily, then finished his shower and got dressed.

Stan threw his phone onto the passengers' seat of his green 1955 Volkswagen Beetle. He loved this car, it reminded him of his grandpa. He turned the key and took off down the road to the hospital.

[9:59 am]

Stan had never run that fast in his life. After he parked his car, he took off down the halls of the hospital until he found Bill's room. He knocked, then opened the door. He glanced in to see Bill grinning over at Beverly who was perched on the edge of his bed, next to Ben who was messing with her hair. Stan sighed and walked in, making the attention of three of his friends turn to him.

You would expect Bill to look sad, or get upset that Stan was back, but no. Bill grinned wider and scooted over for Stan to sit next to him. Stan sighed in relief and sat down next to his best friend, then leaned his head on Bill's shoulder. "Stuh-Stan your huh-huh-hair is cold." Bill chuckled, nudging the curly haired boy next to him. "Yes well I did just take a bath so" Stan mumbled back. "Yuh-You tired or suh-suh-something Stuh-Stanny?" Bill asked quietly, glancing at Stan who had his eyes closed. "Yeah.. I can stay up for you though." Stan mumbled, fluttering his eyes open. Bill shook his head, "Nuh-No. Go-Go to s-s-sleep. I'll probably f-fall asl-asleep t-too."

Stan passed out within 5 minutes. Beverly and Ben waved goodbye as they walked out the door and Bill curled up under the blankets with his best friend until he fell asleep too.

[10:12 am]

Stan was awoken by the door to the hospital room opening slowly. His eyes fluttered open and he came to realize where he was, and what he was doing. His cheeks flushed when he noticed how Bill's face was tucked into his shoulder. Stan's arms were lazily wrapped around his waist, and he was leaning back against the wall. He glanced over to the door and watched as Georgie walked into the room cautiously. "Georgie?" Stan mumbled, his voice raspy. "Stanny! Is Billy awake?" Georgie's soft voice called out. "No.. but come here bud" Stan mumbled.

Georgie closed the door behind him and shuffled over to the bed. He kicked off his shoes and climbed up next to Stan and his brother. He tucked himself under the blankets and curled closely to his brother. Bill's eyes flutter open. "Georgie..?" He said quietly, his voice deep and groggily. Stan's cheeks flushed when he heard Bill's voice, but pushed his feelings away. he had a girlfriend.

"Billy!" Georgie giggled, squeezing his brother's waist. Bill held him tighter, letting go of Stan. Stan grinned down at the brothers, feeling a calming sensation of love in his heart. Surprising, I know. Then, Georgie reached out and pulled Stan into the hug too.

Bill's parents walked into the room and smiled at the sight of their family. "Bill! You're awake!" His mother cried, running forwards and engulfing her son in a warm hug. Stan pulled away awkwardly as Bill's mother squeezed her sons, but she noticed the loss of contact from Stan. She pulled him back into the hug. Stan's body was pressed against Bill's, and Bill dug his face into Stan's shoulder. Stan's cheeks flushed, but he ignored it as Sharon let go.

"Bill! You scared me!" His mother cried, holding her son's face in her hands. The auburn haired boy's eyes filled with tears and he choked. "I'm suh-suh-Sorry muh-momma. It wa-was just t-to much-ch" he cried, stumbling over his words as his mom brought him back into a hug. Stan watched silently, tears building in his own eyes.

The pair pulled away and his mother wiped away his tears. "I'm just glad you're still with me honey." His mom stated, giving a weak smile. Bill nodded. "Well, we're going home today and in a week you should be getting those bandages off for good, but we're going to have to change them twice daily. Stan honey, do you want to come with us?" Sharon said kindly. Stan looked up with a small smile, making Bill's heart flutter. "Of course! But I brought my own car so I'll meet you guys at your house." Sharon nodded, then asked if he could help Bill get out of bed.

Stan wrapped an arm around Bill's waist and pulled him off of the bed. Bill stumbled, and clutched onto Stan for dear life. "Billy, you're fine. I'm literally holding you up." Stan chuckled, helping him walk more lightly. Bill playfully rolled his eyes and slightly let go even though he could walk easily if he tried.

He just wanted to be near Stan.
