I placed the heavy bags down so I could ring the doorbell. As I rung it, I heared muffled noises and footsteps coming towards the door. The door opened revealing a middle-aged woman smiling little too much for my taste.
"Hi, you must be Emily! I'm Stella," she said after a very uncomfortable hug.
I stepped inside the house. The warm scent of... I can't exactly put my finger on what the smell was but I didn't mind it at all.
"The boys will be here shortly. They're driving back from the store," she said sending me a smile. I nodded.
We walked down the hall to a room.
"This is your room. I'll leave you to unpack, I will be in the kitchen if you need anything"
I nodded again and she left me alone in the room. I placed my bags on the floor and sat on the bed.
So this will be my home for the next year. I liked the house it was like a real home. The lady was nice too but little too cheery for me.
I was actually here. Away from my family. All the bad things. I was actually surprised when I was told a family was willing to take me under they're care.
I took of my jacket. So now you could see my tattoos on my arms. I started unpacking. I did it til they called me to meet rest of the family. I walked slowly to the living room. Stella stood there with smile on her face. As I entered the room everybody's eyes were on me. Stella looked at my tattoos. Hell, they all were staring at them.
I cought hoping to make it somehow less awkward. Stella understood and started talking.
" This is my husband, Edward, and son, Christopher"
I nodded and shook Edward's hand.
"Christopher, say hi!" Stella whisper yelled at her son. He was still looking at me. I didn't mind it. I was used to it by now.
"Uh.. Sorry, hi" he smiled a half smile and shook my hand. I smiled back to him.
Stella started to talk about school. "You'll attend the some school as Christopher so you have at least one friend there. You'll start on Monday."
I nodded understanding. I hate school but if that's the price of getting away from my old life, so be it.
