A void. A void of no color or definition. No left and right or up and down. Where am I? I cannot see or hear anything, am I dead? Is this what the great beyond looks like? I try to scream but Nothing comes of my attempts. I thrash and kick, but seem to go nowhere. So I drift, in this, this realm of nothingness, am I forever trapped here? Where is here?
Elsewhere, a man gets up and begins to prepare himself for his day. After getting out of bed he glances at his mirror. He is a tall and lean figure with several scars, he takes a quick shower and goes about simple morning routine, after he grabs a white surgical mask and dons it. He wears a simple navy blue suit and a red tie. He grabs an iron grey suitcase, hugs his wife goodbye and makes his way out the door. He would have a long day of work ahead of him. A black car with tinted windows and no plates was idling at the end of his sloped driveway with a man in a black suit and tie waiting in the driver's seat. As he approaches the car doors unlock and he gets in the back seat directly behind the driver. The doors lock as the car begins it’s route to The Facility, same as always. An hour and a half later it pulls up to a large metal gate.
The gate is seemingly insignificant in size compared to the massive concrete wall it is in. In the middle of the two lanes, one leading in and one out, stood a small, black obelisk, about seven feet tall with a small glass dome perched atop it. As the car slowed to a stop next to it the driver rolled down his window and presents a card to the obelisk. A moment later the metal gate on the intake route slides up into the wall as the driver continues. Inside is a dark, one lane tunnel. There are a few lights spaced out periodically to prevent total darkness but the main source of light was the cars headlights.
After another half an hour of driving down the strait tunnel the car pulls to a stop in a car elevator at the end of the tunnel. The platform spins the car around to face the way it came as a safety fence slides closed all whilst the elevator begins it’s decent. Down, down, down. After a fifteen minute decent the elevator slows to a stop and opens its fence to allow the car to drive out and into a small underground parking lot.
It’s relatively empty hold five black cars identical to the one what man was currently in. The car pulls up alongside the other cars in the back of the parking lot making it the sixth black car there. Both men exit the car and begin walking to the only door. The man in the black suit opens the door for the man in the navy blue suit and they both proceed into a short cement hallway with two doors. One, a solid metal door and one a glass door. The man in the black suit takes the solid metal door.
The man in the navy blue suit continues straight ahead through the glass door and into a decontamination room. He stops in the middle of the small room as it shoots hip with a strange gas then opens the door to let him proceed. He continues into a locker room where he finds his locker. He pulls a lab coat, rubber boots, gloves, and a name tag that reads “Dr.Zed”. After getting into his lab coat and putting on his gloves and boots Dr.Zed exits the locker room into another decontamination chamber. After being decontaminated he exits into a large open room where several other researchers are working with strange chemicals and other top secret projects.
As they see him walk in the other researchers salute him then continue their experiments. Dr.Zed only gives a nod in response as he marches through the room towards his personal lab at the back of the facility. After passing several more researchers Zed pulls out his own key card and opens his lab. His lab is a twenty by twenty by ten meter room. The right wall is lined with locked storage units, fridges and lab islands (like a kitchen island). To the right there is a five by five by ten meter glass room for experiments.
The back of the room is full of misc science equipment. In the far back however, were three massive tubes filled with green liquid. Two of which were empty but one held a strange creature in fetal position. The creature was very pale and had a thin layer of white hair all over its body. It has three sets of arms, one set of legs, and a tail. It’s head was human in appearance, hold the fact that in place of lips it had large, serrated, interlocking teeth.
The creature was still in its infancy but it was already two and a half meters long. It’s size was expected to trippier in the next few months. It was found up in the mountains, and the only people who seem to know anything about the beast were the natives who were terrified of it and sacrificed livestock to the creatures to spare themselves. They did have a name for it though, Tsum’Tala’Tim’Cala. It doesn’t have a true meaning in English unfortunately. “Your so strange, I wonder what you will become, and what we can get out of you” Zed said whilst slowly reaching out and brushing the glass with his gloved hand, as if alert of his presence the creature flinched and curled up tighter than it had been.
