Levy's POV

Soon enough the limo came to a stop. Gajeel waited for a couple of minutes, and when I was about to ask him what he was waiting for, I jumped when the limo door opened. His chauffer stood up straight beside the door as if he was undergoing inspection.

As soon as Gajeel exited the car he merely waved his hand and said, "It's okay, she's not special." The chauffer seemed to relax a little, but I was not happy at all with that statement.

"Excuse me? What was that I just heard?"

"Miss McGarden, if you will follow me." The chauffer waited for me to leave the car, but how did he know my name? "Mr Redfox sir informed the staff of your expectant arrival."

"H-He knew I was coming? But he literally just picked me off the streets!"

"Incorrect Miss McGarden, for you see, Mr Redfox has cunning plans which only his most loyal staff are told."

"So I take it you're classed as loyal."

"Indeed I am."

"What's taking so long?" Redfox was on the first of many steps leading up to the large doors of his mansion. "Bring McGarden and we can sort things out inside, it's almost midnight."

I hadn't noticed how long it had taken us to get to the mansion, but my watch said it was as Redfox said. With the help of the chauffer, I climbed out of the limo and wandered up the steps to stand beside the tall businessman. Stumbling most of the time, I managed to get to the door.

"How can one person be so small...?" The businessman muttered under his breath.

"How can one person be so-,"

"Remember what I'm offering you, and I do have to power to make someone dissapear off the face of the earth."

"Let me finish, how can one person be so k-kind..." I said through gritted teeth. Unfair. If he got to talk bad about me it was only fair that I could retaliate.

The door opened and revealed not what I really expected.

What did I expect? Hm, well...

I expected a massive staircase made of marble in the centre of the front room, leading upwards into the large mansion. Several large doors to the east and to the west of the building, branching off in different directions later on, practically begging for me to explore them. There would be painting adorning the walls, possibly ancestors of Redfox who looked much more majestic. And there would be small armchairs as if it was a hotel lobby.

But no, none of that was there.

I was close though.

The building on the outside looked fairly modern, but the inside was quite old fashioned. Wooden staircases were against the walls, circling inwards so that you could walk under them. Both had doors which made me think of cupboards under the stairs...

There were paintings, but not of any ancestors. Redfox and his cousin (Rogue if I remember correctly) were featured in a portrait to the west looking very young and not at all innocent. To the east was a picture of Redfox again with two other people who I couldn't quite recognise. But the main portrait was 3 metres by 3 1/2 metres big and there was a couple looking happily towards whoever was painting it. The man looked similar to Redfox, but the woman looked pure, as if she wasn't caught up in the man's life, as if they were strangers who had just been asked to pose together and act as if they were a happy duo. I say that because their body language implied that neither one of them wanted to be near to the other person.

But from what I heard from Lucy, the previous owner of Redfox Industries was a hapy man with a close wife...

"Don't dilly-dally Shrimp." Redfox threw his coat at a servant who caught it easily and scurried off. Another maid came up to me and held out her hands as if she was expecting me to do the same. I simply took it off and once I'd removed my phone, I handed it to her. She took it and nodded politely then walked off.
