How many nights had he dreamt the same dream?
Seven nights? Eight nights? Nine?
It's been twelve.
It's been exactly twelve nights since he had been dreaming the same scenario again and again. In the same mysterious garden with brightly colored flowers that surrounded his feet, pale pink flowers that gently fell from the cherry blossoms trees, black and blue butterflies that flew around his face every time he woke up in the dream and...and a girl that stood a few paces away from the blonde hair ninja.
He doesn't know who she was or why she was visioning her. Every night, he always tries to speak to this peculiar girl but not a single word can escape his lips. No matter how hard Lloyd tries to make his lips move or open his mouth to talk to the girl, he couldn't. The girl, however, could. Every night in the same monotone voice, she would always say the same thing with a soft emotionless smile on her [S/C] lips.
"We'll meet each other very soon Lloyd."
Lloyd would always, even if he didn't want to, reach out for her once the girl started to walk towards an entrance to a breathtaking mansion when the scenario changed from the back garden to the front gates. When the girl reached the overtowering black and amaranthine butterfly-shaped gates, she would turn her head to the side and look at him one last time. Lloyd's emerald green eyes stare into the dark empty [E/C] eyes. He tried again to talk to her. Ask her why he was here in this strange dream.
But that wouldn't matter to the girl as she pushed open the gates. Lloyd, frozen in place, witnesses thousands of butterflies flying out of the gates and towards him. They surrounded Lloyd, flying around his face or landing on his shoulder as he watched in awe by the color and grace they are. It almost looked like they were dancing...
And then he woke up. His chest was heaving up and down. Once he would wake up, a massive headache would start to form, jabbing hot knives into his skull. No pills or any of his uncle, Sensei Wu's, tea would help him get rid of it. Once he gets up and recollects his thoughts after a night of exhausted dreaming, he would desperately try to fall back asleep in his mess. But sleep never came to the poor boy.
Sleep never comes no matter how hard he tries. Even in pain and trying to fall back to sleep, he can't stop himself from thinking about the girl. Why was she communicating with him? What was the reason for doing so? Normally it was Zane that would get these visions so why was this one coming directly for Lloyd? What was the reason for doing so? And why him?
Why was he the only one dreaming about her?
This had to be a trap. It had to be.
Or was it a cry for help? Was she in some sort of danger? Life-threatening situation?
No. This was a trap. It had to be a trap.
The last time Lloyd had trusted a girl and fell in love with, his heart was played by her. She had taken advantage of him to grab hold of the Mask of Hatred to resurrect his father, Lord Garmadon. There is no way he is going to let that happen again.
Right?
A/N: Hey. Cho here. Sorry for not posting anything in a long time. I've been busy with schoolwork throughout the whole semester and I gotten overwhelmed by them. But now that I'm taking online school, I have all the time to do more writing while I'm staying home. Not sure if I'm happy about that or not. But I hope that I can finish this fanfic instead of leaving it like the others. I'm determine to not let this flop.
