Before we begin the main body of this chronicle, it would be useful to say a few words about the kala bears.

Kala bears are not to be confused with Australia's much-loved koala bears. (Commonly known as bears, koalas are actually marsupials - Milinda.) Kalas look the same as koalas, apart from their blue on blue eyes, because kalas are koala mutations. Beyond appearance though, they are very different beasts indeed.

A kala is as wicked as a koala is not. A kala will have your throat out as soon as look at you. And they are all the more dangerous because the mutation has given them human intelligence. Stupid and aggressive humans that is.

From small beginnings in Kondalilla National Park Qld. they spread all over Australia, and with their terrorist agenda they now threaten the rest of the world as well.

They have been likened to gremlins but that comparison is misleading. Gremlins don't come even close to the wickedness of kala bears. Gremlins are a pleasant daydream in a kala bear nightmare.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. The reader will soon come to understand the magnitude of the kala bear threat.
