The cold air against my exposed skin, gently stroking past me as I sat atop of the small hill. Gazing out at the big city, but here out in the middle of nowhere, it looked so tiny and meaningless. So far away that none of its drama could reach me.
But the lights,
The lights shined brighter that anything I had ever seen before. Like a million fireflies dancing lively in the night sky.
Or a billion miniature suns, enough for the whole universe.
It blinded me, but still I couldn't tear my eyes away. It was absolutely mesmerizing.
It made me want to dance and sing my lungs out. Filled me with all sorts of emotions, happiness, loneliness, sorrow.
It made me feel like I could take on the the whole world, Nothing holding me back.
But it also made me feel so incredibly small, like a speck of dust, just floating around with no intention.
At last, my skin had gone numb from the cold.
I slowly got up, stretching my limps, hearing my joints pop back into place.
I take a deep breath of the fresh, cold air, looking back at the hill one more time, before turning and dragging myself back to my car.
Drama city, here I come.
