Father Fernando de Huidobro y Polanco/Fernando Huidobro Polanco, S.J. "Capellán Huidobro" "el curita" "Páter Huidobro", killed on the Cuesta de las Perdices 40.4633N -3.76831E, Aravaca (Madrid) Front in a Republican artillery bombardment by a Soviet-made 'obus' (howitzer) shell while administering first-aid to his fellow legionnaires.

Parents: José de Huidobro y Ortiz de la Torre (?-September 1916) and María Polanco y Bustamante aka María Huidobro y Ortiz De La Torre, both from Santander, Cantabria, Spain.

His early days were spent in a house directly across from the Jesuit Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón, Calle de San José, 15, 39003 Santander, Cantabria, Spain.

He had two or three siblings (it is unclear), one of whom was named Ignacio Huidobro Polanco. Ignacio at first went for a soldier but eventually entered the novitiate.

First Communion 23 June 1911 in Melilla where his father worked for la compañía Transatlántica Marqués de Comillas; the firm was building a new port there.

December 1911 the family moved from Melilla to Madrid.

In 1918 he finished his undergraduate studies.

15 or 16 October 1919 Jesuit novitiate in Monasterio Cartuja, Paseo de Cartuja, s/n, 18011 Granada, Spain.

November 1919 Moved to Burgos to continue studies in theology.

January 1932 the Second Republic outlawed the Society of Jesus and Huidobro headed for Belgium. Studied theology and philosophy at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg/Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg/Uni Freiburg, Freiburg im Breisgau, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Disciple and friend of Martin Heidegger (1889-1976).

April 1933 made a deacon in the St. Ignatius Church, Den Haag Netherlands.

28 August 1933 celebrated his first Mass, St. Ignatius Church, Den Haag Netherlands.

8 September 1936 joined the Legion Bandera IV and cast his lot with the Nationalists.

9 November 1936 wounded at Casa de Campo, Madrid. He was taken to the hospital in Griñón, Comunidad de Madrid and later to Talavera de la Reina, Toledo, comunidad autónoma de Castilla–La Mancha.

5 April 1937 final vows.

11 April 1937 died.

19 November 1947 Beatification process began.
