"Hey Nick, what are you listening to?" a girl confronted me as I was listening to some songs.
This girl is Camellia, my classmate and friend.
"Captivated by IV of Spades. It's on loop though since I really like it," I responded.
"Isn't that the band whose lead singer has the same name as you?" she pointed out the similarities between my name and the previous lead singer's name.
"Yeah, too bad he left though," I said.
"So... can I listen to it?" she asked so I lend her my earphone's right ear bud and we both listened to it.
While we're listening to the song I start to think about why she's so attached to me. It looks as if she doesn't want to be separated from me. A lot of people don't understand me. They think I'm kinda weird or complicated. That's why I don't have a lot of friends. She, however, doesn't seem to care. It's not that she understands me, or atleast I think she doesn't understand me, but she's always here for me and listens to my problems. Whether it be personal things or things about school.
She's also the only one of my friends who never gets tired of waiting for me when we're leaving for home after school. Not that I really need someone to be my companion when going home, probably cause I'm used to being alone, but I really appreciate that gesture.
I guess I'm only realizing now how much of a good friend she is to me. If only I can repay that friendship. But I don't really think I have the courage to even thank her for it. I don't think my ego can handle it. Yet, another reason why I don't have that much friends. Deep inside, I have a really big ego.
But I won't be satisfied unless I show her how much I value all the things she's done for me, even if it's just in a subtle way.
So I looked at her, and then hugged her. She's a bit confused by this but she doesn't seem to mind and she even hugs me, too, as the song we're listening to repeats itself.
