Prologue

"Hey beautiful, how ya feeling?" He asked with a slight smirk.

"I'm okay I guess," she replied shyly.

"Don't be shy, come here," he beckoned for her to sit next to him.

She hesitated a little before sitting down next to him. He put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her close, rubbing her thigh. "I don't bite," he said with a grin, "what's your name?"

"Um...Zavia...Zavia Mendoza."

"Zavia Mendoza," he repeated, "that's a cute name, it suits such a beauty like you. It sounds like a name a model would have. You don't happen to model do you?"

"Uh, no. I'm not really photogenic."

"Well, you should consider it, you have the perfect face and body for it. I'm Alanzo Reid by the way, but you can call me Lazno or Lanny if you like."

Zavia gave a silent nod as Alanzo slowly slid his hand further up her thigh. "Um, okay I don't feel comfortable with this," she said grabbing his hand.

"Oh, I'm sorry. You should have told me earlier and I would have stopped. Why don't you tell me a little about yourself? I'm really trying to get to know you."

"Well, what do you wanna know?"

"Let us start with where you're from."

"Puerto Rico, and you?"

"Costa Rica. What do you like to do in your spare time?"

"Well, I sing, draw, mostly sleep," she laughed slightly, "I smoke, hang out with friends, ya know, normal angsty teenage girl stuff. How about you?"

"You're a funny one, but mostly the same thing minus the singing and girl part," they both let out a small laugh.

They talked for hours that night as Zavia opened up a little. Eventually, they started dating for longer than either of them expected. Their relationship was the dream relationship everyone wanted, but that only lasted a few years and things started going downhill. In public, they seemed like the happy couple they used to be, but in private unspeakable things happen.
