A Forbidden Love

Bakugo

It stared off as a day like every other. Waking up, swimming around for my morning exercise, screaming at Deku, talking with people I know, and doing whatever I feel like. But today was different, "Katsuki, you are going to marry the princess!" Mum says happily, "excuse me?" I say, "you will marry the princess before the season is out," my mother, Mitsuki Bakugo, says happily. "I'm not marrying anyone!" I shout, "you are! She was looking for a mate, and when you saved her from the sharks she decided you were going to be the one," mum smiled, "I fucking hate you!" I shout and swim out of our cave, "KATSUKI!" Is the last thing I hear before I get away from the area.

"Marry the princess! You have to be joking," I shout to no one, "hi," I hear a small voice say, I spin and see the princess, "I don't want to marry you... I just wanted to thank you but as usual my father takes everything next level," she sighs, "right. Well I didn't ask why you wanted to marry me or anything," I say crossing my arms, "I know," she smiles and swims around me, "your tail is amazing, the colouring of grey and orange suits you," she says, "well, your pink tail is cute, I guess," I say softly, "what's your name? I only know you as Bakugo," she says, "Katsuki," I answer, "mine is Ochaco," she smiles, "Princess Ochaco? Pretty," I smile, "well, want to do something fun?" She asks, "sure" I smile.

We swim for almost and hour and we come to the end of the reef, "we can't go any further," I say looking at the Princess, "says who?" She asks, "the king," I answer as I look over the edge, "my father is just dramatic, there is nothing out there that can hurt us," Ochaco giggles, "are you sure?" I ask, "I thought the band on your upper right arm indicated the fact you swam out there, and survived for three weeks on your own," Ochaco says pointing at my band of adulthood, "doesn't mean I want to go the fuck back out there," I mumble, "what was bad about it?" She asks, "the large open nothingness. You can't see clearly and when you do see something, it's trying to kill you. Also, this part of the ocean belongs to the Syrens," I say, "how the hell do you know that?" She asks, "they live on the sea floor, really deep under, they are stronger and faster than us, because they live so deep where it's harder to move, so when they come up to where they can swim easier, they're faster," I say, "sounds to me like you're scared," Ochaco says smirking, "I'm not scared!" I shout, "then come with me!" She says and swims out into the open sea. I swallow and swim after her, "I fucking hate you," I mumble as we swim away from the safety of the reef and into the unknown ocean.

"It's beautiful!" Ochaco says, "yeah," I agree, "what's that?" She says pointing at a large animal, "a whale," I say, "how do you know it's not a shark?" She asks, "whales tails move the same as ours, up and down. They also only eat fish or plankton," I say, "oh ok," she says as she watches a pod go past ahead of us, "sharks have tails like a Syren. They move left and right," I add, "true,"she smiles, "can we go down?" She asks looking at me, I look at her arm as she points down I follow her finger down and look into the darkness below us, "I don't think that's a good idea," I say, "don't be scared!" She giggles hitting my arm, "let's go!" She says and dives. I panic and swim after her without thinking. As soon as I catch up, we are at the sea floor, "that wasn't that bad now was it?" She smiles, "I guess not," I say as I watch as the shadows dance across the floor, I look up and all around to make sure there aren't any Syrens or sharks in the area, "you ok?" She asks, I just make a noise to let her know I heard her. "Katsuki..." She says softly, "what?" I ask and look forward, and there it was. The monster I had never seen before. The sharp teeth, long claws, and hungry eyes of a Syren.

"Ochaco, swim as fast as you can to the reef," I say, "what about you?" She asks, I show her my left arm, "this band means I know how to fight. I was trained to become one of the royal guards. I should be able to take this chick on," I say watching the Syren closely, "remember, don't listen to her song," Ochaco says and she darts upwards away from the sea floor, at the same time, the Syren moves after her, I swim forward and hit the pink haired Syren in the stomach, she lurches and glares at me with her golden eyes, "how dare you interrupt my meal!" She hisses, "don't lay a finger on her!" I growl and scratch at her with the sharp fins on my arms, she hisses and scratches at me with her claws, I avoid her as best as I can until she nicks my tail, I hiss and she grabs my hip fins and rips a bit off, I scream and hit her head against a rock before I swim up towards the surface as quickly as I can. Sadly as I had predicted Syrens are faster than us, and she caught up to me and bit into the part of my tail just before my tail fin, I scream out again and swim around her and pull on her arm fin and she screams as it splits, "you bastard!" She shouts as I swim away.
I get to the edge of the reef and see that Ochaco wasn't here, "Ochaco?" I shout, she doesn't answer, "OCHACO!!" I scream out her name and then I see it. Hell. The royal guard. "Fuck." I watch as the form a circle around me and Ochaco appears and hugs me, "you scared me to death! I swam home as fast as I could to get my guards," She says and she holds me tight, "Ochaco, you have no idea, the amount of trouble I'm in now," I say, "what do you mean?" She asks, "we were not allowed to go down there, and we did," I sigh, "no silly, we were playing around when a Syren came up and dragged me down, you came to my rescue, again, silly," she smiles, the lying shit, "oh yeah, sorry, I've lost a lot of blood," I say and look down at my tail, "guard! Help him!" Ochaco says, and one of the guards pulls out a seaweed wrap and covers the open wounds on my tail and chest before helping me with swimming back to town.
