The female Hashira looked up from her book when she heard a knock on the door to her office. "Yes?" She closed her book and waited for the person behind to respond.

"It's Tomioka" his cold voice rang in her ears, somehow making her heart skip a beat. A smile made its way to her face as she returned the book to its shelf.

"Come in" Tomioka opened the door, stepping in her office, his eyes on her. She sent a close eyed smile and gestured him to sit down at the chair in front of her.

"How are you Tomioka-san?" She asked, resting her chin on her intertwined hands. Tomioka's face morphed into an annoyed expression "I was fine a few days ago, Kochou. I didn't have to stay here" she stiffled a laugh and rewinded back on time.

Shinobu remembered two days ago where she noticed Tomioka somehow struggling to walk straight, so she immediately hooked his arms around her neck and guided him to her estate with him trying to convince her he was fine.

Of course, she knew he wasn't. His temperature was high, he was breathing through his mouth and was paler than usual. As soon as he was placed on guest bed, he covered his face with his arms, "You didn't have to bring me here, Kochou".

"You know you're sick, Tomioka-san. And I'll be lonely when going missions without you." she couldn't control her words that suddenly came out of her mouth. She immediately tries to cover it up. "And also, I can't remind you that no one likes you, when you're sick like that".

Tomioka shot her an annoyed look and turned his back on her "and also, please don't try to leave without me knowing, Tomioka-san or I will knock you out and tie you up~" without another word, she walked out and closed the door.

She walked to her room and slammed the door shut. She stared at herself in the mirror and noticed the slight blush on her cheeks, she slapped her cheeks and shook her head.

Lately she's been feeling giddy and warm around him and she's not dumb to not know what that feeling was. She thought all about it one night and relieved all the memories and moments with him. Like the first time he smiled, his worried looks sent to her and all those missions where Tomioka felt like he has to protect her, and the idea of him doing that is making her heart skip a beat.

Within those two days, she took care of Tomioka herself, she would leave food and medicine in the morning and wipe a wet towel on his face and arms as he sleeps to lower his burning temperature. Shinobu couldn't help but admire his sleeping face, as creepy as it sounds, the guy was totally handsome in her opinion.

"Kochou?" His voiced snapped her out of her thoughts. She shook her head and focused on him. She placed a hand on his forehead. "Hm, your temperature seems normal. Let me do some checks real quick, Tomioka-san" she stood up and moved her chair closer to him, moving the table that was in between them.

She placed a hand on his chin "say aah~" she said, also making her mouth open, demonstrating to Tomioka. Tomioka stared at her and leaned in stealing a kiss from her, his hands cupping her cheeks.

"I feel better now, thank you, Kochou" he said and stared deeply into her eyes, he lets go and walked away without saying anymore words, leaving a blushing and dumbfounded Shinobu. Her eyes wide, her cheeks turned red, shocked expression clear in her face as she tries to process what just happened.

"T-Tomoka-san.." she said unconsciously.

"Tomioka-san!" She rushed out of the room and realized Tomioka left already, making her flustered and annoyed. How can he just do that and walk away?!

That night, Shinobu struggled to sleep as she tossed and turned, biting her nails involuntarily. She groaned in annoyance and shot up from her laying position, "that stupid, Tomioka! I can't sleep because of him!" She exclaimed, probably not a good idea because it's in the middle of the night.

She forced her eyes shut and for an hour or two she finally got some sleep.

In the morning, she almost fell when she stood up, her knees weakened all of a sudden. She shrugged it off and did her morning routine, taking a bath then changing into her demon slayer uniform and wore her sister's haori.

As soon as she stepped out of her room, her crow cawed. "Kochou Shinobu, proceed to the Headquarters! Headquarters!" The bird hovered above her in circles and finally left.

When she arrived Tomioka was already there as well as the other Hashiras. "Good morning, everyone~" she greeted and stood beside them, but not before making eye contact with Tomioka. She whipped her head to the other side and ignored him.

"The master has arrived.." and thus the meeting started. The whole hour, Shinobu tried to stay up during the meeting but her eyes were starting to droop. This was the effect of these last few days where she took care of Tomioka every night and also she didn't get enough sleep yesterday.

She hadn't noticed the glances Tomioka sent her. The meeting finished and everyone stood up. Tomioka makes his way towards Shinobu, earning looks from his fellow demon slayers as they watch in curiousity.

Tomioka suddenly scooped her off her feet as Shinobu's eyes widened. "What are you doing, Tomioka-san?!" She shrieked in Tomioka's ear. He sent her an annoyed look and walked out the room with her in his arms. "Put me down, Tomioka-san!"she exclaimed, smacking her fist on his shoulder.

Tomioka didn't even flinched and just stared in front of them. "Tomioka-san!".

"Shut up and take a rest, Kochou" Shinobu stopped her ineffective tries and stared at him in awe.

Shinobu relaxed in his arms and let her eyes close, submitting to her sleepiness. "I didn't know you cared so much, Tomioka-san" she mumbled, starting to lose consciousness.

"Of course I do, Shinobu"
