A knock on my door, made me realise that Stefan was already here. Apparently he was supposed to go with Elena but there was complications. I understood but I told him I wasn't going to be a second choice to anyone and he quickly agreed. I ran down the stairs and opened the door to Stefan. I hadn't got my dress on since I had to get changed there
"Sorry I took so long, I just had to do my hair and things" he smiled and held out his arm
The hall was opposite my house so it was easy to get there. After an hour of looking around I went upstairs to where I had to wait with Elena and Caroline. Great. It was my turn to go down the stairs. I had my dress on and my hair done and I was I thought ready.

"Miss selena pierce escorted by mr.stefan salvatore" I went down the steps trying to be careful as I wanted to look 'normal' in the public's eye. Damon and Stefan stared for a few seconds but then looked to the floor. Everyone clapped and I smiled going down the stairs. Wow this is odd this attentions I'm getting...oh who am I kidding I always get the attention I want.
The next hour was like a blur and now I had to dance with Stefan. This is where all the dancing I've done throughout the years comes in handy. I held stefans hand and we danced and I tried to not fall apart as the many times I danced it never ended up going well with the partner. When it was finally over I saw klaus and he waved at me. Great! I stood with the others and the woman was about to announce the winner.
"And the winner is.....miss selena pierce" I cocked my head in confusion and Stefan smiled. He grabbed my hand and led me up to the stage.
"I am grateful for this, I am but I feel someone else should've won this and that's why I'm stepping down and I'm going to announce the winner" they all looked confused
"Caroline Forbes would you come up here please?" I said into the microphone. She looked around and then got up on stage
"You deserve this a lot more than I do" I gave it to her and followed stefan down the stage
"I'm proud of you" stefan said when we were alone
"Don't get used to it" I said and smiled.
"You don't need to answer this but about you're past-"
"Stefan the deeper you dig the darker it gets and you won't look at me in the same way" he sighed and put a hand on my shoulder which I flinched to right away
"Just know I'm always here to talk. When you're ready" Jesus Christ it's really hard to hate this boy

I walked through the woods as I needed the time to think but o cut myself off by the sound of a twig snapping. Oh wow, how stereotypical and let me guess my worst nightmare is behind me. I turned around and there stood my bitch of a father. My heart felt as if it shivered but I didn't show that. I didn't want him to know.
"How I've missed you"
"Go back home."
"What?"
"I said go back home. No one wants you here and I am sure as hell I don't either" he scoffed and lifted up his hand. A ringing came through my ears and I fell to my knees. I groaned in pain
"You're worthless Selena. I'm not the one who nobody cares about. Nobody will save you. Might as well give up now" he laughed in the evilest way I could think of
And as of on cue, Blake and mason jumped in front of me and Blake hissed with his vampire face.
"You're wrong dad. You made us believe for years that you were the good guy, that you were helping Selena get better but you weren't. Selena is you're daughter, our sister and we love her and there is nothing you can do to change that" mason stated placing his hand on the small of my back.
"I'll see you soon" he waved sarcastically and then disappears
"I got you. It's gonna be okay. You're going to be okay" mason said cradling me in his arms as I shivered
