The girl whimpers and Slender's trenidals whip out from his back violently. I stand in front of the cowering girl. Not knowing why.

"No!"

"Rose remove yourself."

"No!"

I feel myself being afraid. I don't know why I am protecting this kid. I know she is spoiled and she ran away from home, but something in me wants to fight for her.

"Rose, now is not a time for heroics."

"This is a living and breathing child, they do not understand how well they have it. She is just a child!"

"He!"

I turn to her.

"Pardon?"

"I am a boy."

I raise my eyebrows, totally confused. Slender yanks then from infront of me and I grab her arm.

"Slenderman! No!"

"Rose let go of the child."

His hand is around the crook of her shoulder and I have her wrist in the grasp of my two hands.

"No! She is just a child she deserves to live!"

Slender smacks me across the face, my body drops to the floor but my grasp of my right hand clamps on the child's wrist. He roars at me, I lift my head and glare at him. I stand up and hold the child's arm.

"Rose Nightengale, I command you to release the human."

I lock my jaw and glare into the holes where eyes should be. I hear a growl from Slender.

"So be it."

He spin himself to be in front of me snapping the girls arm, she screams and I pull her to me in a hug so he can't stab her. I look at her teary eyes and smile into her face.

"It's okay, you're okay. I'm going to take you home, okay? Where-"

Her head snaps to the right harshly. The life in her eyes drains away and the only thing that moved was the twitching of her fingers in my hand. I kneel next to her. I have never fully witnessed a murder. I either don't look or turn my head. She was the first.

She lays on the ground still and silent tears still fall from her eyes as if her eyes didn't know the blood had stopped moving. I stare at her eyes. I find myself kneeling on the ground next to her. I look up to see people leaving from boredom or not wanting to feel the glares of me or Slender. Slender stands there with crossed arms.

"She isn't your child, it's not your place to care."

I look at her and stroke her hair and close her eyes. I remove a locket from around her neck and a chain that reads Issiac and the other side reads June. I slide it over my head. The locket in my hands cools my skin as I stand and look at her body. I look up to Slender who is walking away as well.

"Sally isn't mine either."

Before he turns his head I run out of the. House with my purse. The taxi I take is quiet the driver seems to be afraid.

"Is there something wrong?"

"You have a little bit of blood on you miss."

I look at my arm and see a little bit of red.

"My lipstick broke on me."

He nods his head but continues to watch me.

The dinner room is full of people talking and music from the band playing. Couples dance in the middle of the room.
