Chapter 38 : The return

Start from the beginning

- Yes you know!

- Pigs found nothing! It's not me!

- I know it's you, it's not over, threatened Alban between his teeth.

Alban freed brutally Jane, trying to make her lose her balance, but the girl stayed steady on her feet, maintaining the dark look he was giving to her.

Max was lost in her thoughts. A baseball bat!? It was Alban and his fucking friends who assaulted her and her boyfriend in that street!? But why!? This guy was crazy! And what was he meaning by Jane breaking his entire house!? All of this was blurry.

- What was he talking about? asked Bev.

- Nothing, someone cleaned up his shitty house, that's all.

- Was it you? told Max with an eyebrow raised.

- Nah I was with Cass', watching TV, smirked Jane.

- Yeah, maybe it's better if we don't know, chuckled Beverly.

- It was him? With the baseball bat? asked Max.

- Um, yeah, his nose is not broken for nothing.

- Why you didn't tell me?

- For what? It wouldn't change anything.

- It would have changed everything! I could have make a file against him!

- Oh...

- It's fine, sighed Max. His nose is broken, it's better than a file anyway.

The redhead placed her hand on Jane's arm and squeezed it. She hoped the other girl didn't feel attacked by what she said, learning it was Alban got her angry so fast that she didn't control her tone. She didn't want to blame her, she broke her hand for her, she couldn't reproach her anything! When she saw her small smile, she knew it was fine.

Mike and Will approached the three girls with a big proud smiles on their faces.

- You must be sad that someone found your hidden place, stated Mike.

- My hidden place? frowned Jane.

- Yeah, where you hide your loot! told Will.

- My loot? What loot?

- Yeah, don't try to act like if you were not guilty!

- I'm guilty of many things, but not stealing you. Why I would steal here, where I'm obviously the first suspect? I'm not that stupid.

- Yeah!? I'm not that sure! said Mike angrily.

The two boys didn't wait for Jane to answer and left the three girls, glad someone stole the stealer.

- Ignore them, they're just cunts, told Beverly.

- It's fine, I'm used to this kind of reaction, shrugged Jane.

Bev felt sorry for her and wrapped her arms around her waist to hug her. At the same moment, Clara arrived:

- Hey, don't hug her, (gently takes off Bev and wraps her arms) I don't share.

- You know we're just for sex, right? told Jane.

- Yeah, I know, it doesn't mean I have to share you, smiled the brown head.

She gave a quick kiss on Jane's lips before going back on her way.

- I, shouldn't tell her that I see other girls, said Jane.

- Yeah, don't do that, agreed Bev, giving a friendly tap on her arm.

- How many girls you see? frowned Max.

- Um...Dunno, with Clara...four?

- That's a lot!

- It's...just like that! We're not hurting anyone, just, enjoying some time with each other.

- Why do you have some much sex? You don't need that!

- But I want it! Why is it a problem!?

- You never thought having one girlfriend to love and hug and kiss with not just sex between you and her!?

- Pfff, come on, love is just a source of problems and pain, I've enough of that in my own life!

- What a sad way to see love! stated Max.

- What!? It's not true!? You've never been disappointed by your pal!?

- Of course I had! But, it's not just this! Love is to feel good with someone who makes you feel good and yourself, someone who never judge you, who is there for you when you need, who make butterflies in your stomach and racing your heart and blush your cheeks just by evocating their name! There are good sides in love, like in everything!

Jane had a small smirk. She took the books she needed before closing her locker. She turned to Max, slowly approached and leaned to her ear before telling with a soft tone:

- I don't recognize your pal in that description.

She straightened and walked away. Max stayed dazed, that hot breathe in her neck gave her a pleasant shiver in her entire body!

- Me neither, said Bev.

- What? frowned Max, slowly coming back to herself.

- I don't recognize Dan in what you said.

Max clumsily moved her head like to tell she heard what she said but wasn't going to answer. Beverly couldn't hold her smile, Max was lightly blushing, and she was sure it wasn't by evocating Dan.

- What!? snapped Max.

- Nothing, smiled more Bev. Let's go in class.

Max closed her locker and followed her friend. What Jane told her totally disturbed her, she didn't know what to think now.
