Kirishima POV
"YEAAAH!" Bakugo roared, triggering small explosions in his palms as he pumped them in the air. Normally, I'd try to calm him down, but he had every right to march down the street and flaunt his strength after what we'd just accomplished.
Earlier that day we bagged one of the most notorious villains in Tokyo. He was responsible for over two dozen brutal murders, countless assaults, and six police slayings. Originally, when we had tried to get on the case, we were rejected in favor of more experienced pros.
"We finally got that ugly bastard," he continued. "Coulda done it a lot sooner too if the cops didn't try to leave it to those damn extras." His enthusiasm and confidence were infectious; it's one of the reasons I chose to stick around him, despite his many... quirks.
I couldn't keep myself from beaming, "Heh, yeah but hey, at least we got our chance and proved ourselves! Did you see the clip of us handing him over on the news? We looked super manly."
"OF COURSE WE DID!!" he responded, using his way-louder-than-outdoor voice.
I nodded in agreement. "We can kick back and relax knowing that guy's not terrorizing people anymore." My feet kept moving but I closed my eyes. I was exhausted. It had taken us over three hours of sustained fighting and chasing to catch him. Using my quirk for so long was draining.
Bakugo had stopped his celebratory march, making him the perfect obstacle to ram into. "HEY! Open your eyes, shitty hair." I had walked right into his chest, and his reflexive response was to shove me back before continuing. "There's no way I can relax after that battle; I'm too pumped. We're gonna hit the arcade bar tonight," he decided.
"Hmm," I mulled it over. Celebrating did sound appealing. "Yeah, we can do that. I'm gonna go home and get changed. Can't claim I'm a hero if I run around breaking women's hearts with my BEEFY chest all exposed," I replied, all the while making my pecs dance.
He rolled his eyes. "Whatever, dumbass. By the way, you need to make adjustments to your costume for colder months. You'll get sick walking around with no shirt."
"Awwww, you do care," I added mockingly.
"Ugh. Meet me there at 8. If you're late I'm going without you."
"Yeah, you gonna play with yourself?" His face reddened. He was easily embarrassed by dirty jokes.
"Wh- SHUT THE HELL UP AND GO GET CHANGED." Bakugo walked off in the direction of his apartment complex, shoving his hands in his coat pockets as he left.
