They think because it's real
It changed their life
They think because they've done so much and lived so long
It's real
but it's a figment of everyone's imagination.
We create all of these ideas and thoughts of what life is
And we lose
What life has always been
To survive.
There aren't always ethics. Smarts or right and wrong.
Sometimes it's just things you must do to keep going on.
Sometimes it's things that grow inside and tell you what to do even when your heart is giving out and it's climbing up your throat.
Sometimes
It's closing the store and taking the trash out.
But the store is your life
And the trash is how you chose to carry it out.
So I know
That the trash I take out
Will be someone else's.
Maybe they won't treasure it like I did.
But they'll in turn
Make their own.
Just as you will.
Just as we all do.
