Chapter 65. Becoming me

The day went fast and we didn't like the house. It was too small, it was only three small rooms. I know Brody and Jase's home is on the market. His parents are selling it. His parents are putting the money they get for the house in a account for the boys for when they graduate college. So its really important to find a place.

We went to my work and went over everything. I found out how much I'm going to making over the summer. I then made Brody bring me to the bank. I looked at Brody and got really excited. We get home and go into the Living room.

"Brody, I'm going to talk to Will. I think we're going to buy a house. I want a house big enough so Nicky has a room. I want him to come over when Will has to work. We're going to have our own home."

"Ok. That sounds like a better idea. Rent is really expensive anyways. I will get a list of places together. I want the house in both our names."

"No problem... how much do we need to put down?"

"I don't know. We will talk to Will tonight. But I can use my savings. "

"I'm so excited" I tell him, jumping up and down. He throws a pillow at me. We go in the kitchen and put dinner together. The whole time laughing. I'm so happy that I have Brody. I can't believe I got a memory back. For the first time in months things are looking up.

The guys come upstairs. Jase had hung out with his friends, Chase and Alex worked with Will this weekend. Nicky came into the kitchen.

"No snacks buddy, we made dinner. Are you ready? Go wash your hands. " I tell Nicky and he runs out. We set dinner on the table. Brody called everyone in.

"Ummmm, today was a great day." I say and they look up at me.

"Yup it was." Brody says.

"We went and looked at a house on campus and it sucked. But on the way there Brody pushed me and I fell down." I say looking at Brody.

"Brody, she has enough problems. " Chase says. They all start on Brody and I start laughing.

"Hey...hold up..I had a memory of Brody throwing me off a wagon today. I remember sitting on a wagon in between Jase and Brody. Then I went flying off the wagon. I remember yelling at Brody "dude you threw me." Being surrounded by clowns. Jase was there to save me. " I tell them. Jase's eyes light up. He looks at me like he just got a sign of something that he was looking for. They all start laughing.

"Of all things to remember. She remembers falling." Chase says and shakes his head laughing.

"That's great Dani. I bet its a matter of time and your memories will come back." Will says.

"Yeah. Brody wanted to throw me again. But I think the memory was just triggered by the fall." I say and take a bite of the spaghetti. Its still my favorite. They all go back to eating but the atmosphere has changed a little. I think because I know they are not strangers for sure now. I have new memories with them and I trust them but it's nice to know they are really part of my life.

"I also had a small photo shoot today. Amber called me, we went and talked to her. I met them all over again and she helped get me in the flow. It was fun. Short but fun. They also want to do a short story about me. About living with memory loss. I told her that I would have to talk to you guys. I don't think its a bad idea."

"No it's a great idea. Maybe by talking about it, it will help you feel better about everything your going thru. I want a copy of the story before it gets published. Tell Amber to call me. You're still only sixteen. I don't want anything published that could hurt you and I think a copy should go to your coach at UCLA. "

"Okay sounds good. I will call her after dinner. I have something else that I want to bring up." I say.

"Okay" Will says. The guys just keep eating.

"Brody and I thought about it. We want to buy a home near university. We will keep it until we're done with school and then we might sell it for a profit. I thought about how much we would pay in rent and our mortgage would be cheaper. We have the money to put down as a deposit. I was hoping you could sign for us. Since neither of us is eighteen. "

"That doesn't sound like a bad idea. You guys could always stay here."

"We could, but we are still an hour away from campus. I want to have an extra room for Nicky so that he can come over on the weekends when you have to work. We can come back anytime you need us."

"Okay. I will sign for you guys but I need you to keep going to therapy. You might not realize how much it has helped you, but it has. It has helped you overcome the grief from your mom and your father. You have been calling me dad sometimes. I think its great. I see you as my daughter and I want you to keep healing. "

"I will. " I say and we finished our dinner. I went to the kitchen and cleaned up. Jase followed me in.

"That's exciting." he says to me.

"Yeah...my first memory back and it's Brody throwing me off a wagon." I say to him and start rinsing the plates. I hand him the plates and he puts them in the dishwasher. I look over to him and he's smiling.

"It's your first memory of me too. It's not a bad one either. It's me taking care of you. I promised along time ago that I would take care of you. I will always be here for you. It's true because you remembered me." Jase says smiling at me. Yeah it is my first memory of him. I smile back at him. I go ahead and push him with my butt.

"Come on lets go watch a movie." Jase says. He takes my hand and I follow him into my bedroom. He takes out a movie and climbs onto my bed. He pulls me into his arms and wraps a blanket around me.

"Am I a virgin still? Have we had sex?" I ask.

"Hahaha. .. no your not a virgin and we have had sex. I didn't take your virginity though......"

"What??" I ask.
