Chapter 2

Jessica's P.O.V.
October 4. The concert is tomorrow. MY concert is tomorrow. I can't believe my mom and Maddie's mom did this for us. I'm so excited words cant even describe. I have loved One Direction since freshman year. Yes I'm a senior, and yes I like One Direction. Judge me, I dont care. They are my life.

And I'm excited to see the new band opening up for them. Ive looked up a few of their songs on iTunes but I've never really seen what they look like. I think their music is amazing, although they are completely different from One Direction. One direction is more of a pop band, Five Seconds of Summer or whatever their name is, is more of a punk rock band.

I hear my phone buzz from beside me. As I pick it up, I see I have a message from Maddie
Maddie: 24 hours 45 minutes 53 seconds until the concert
Maddie: 52 seconds
Me: I get it, I get it! I'm so excited!
Maddie: Excited? Thats an understatement... I'll be at your house in 10
Me: Sounds good, Moms still out so we'll have the house to ourselves
Maddie: Sounds fun:)

I set my phone back down on the counter and go to pull a pizza out of the freezer to make for me. Yes i eat a whole pizza by myself. While its in the oven I run up to my room to grab my speaker and plug my phone up to it. I'm dancing and jamming out to One Direction until I hear the front door open. "Jes?" My mom calls. "Mom, please dont call me that. I told you, only he could call me that, only him." I reply in a shaky voice. "I'm sorry honey. I know you still miss him. Have you heard from him ?" she asks. "No. You know I havent heard from him since he left 7 months ago. Hasn't called or texted." I reply dryly. "Well you have to have hope. I'm sorry honey" she says. "Yeah, me too." The oven beeps and I pull out my pizza and devour it. After I'm finished, I clean up my mess and go up to my room to just sit and think. My thoughts just wont leave me alone.

*Flashback*

"I'm sorry Jess, but you know this is a one and a life time opportunity. I cant pass it up. " he says. "I know Luke. I'm not trying to stop you, I'm just gonna miss you so much." I reply hugging him tight around the waist. He puts his arms around me. "I'm going to miss you so much too." He looks down at me and smiles. "You're such a dork" I say. "But you love me" he replies smirking. "Yeah right!" I say laughing. 'Last call for flight 2431 to Los Angeles' "Well I guess you should go" I say. "Yeah I guess so" he states. "Promise you'll call or text everyday?" I ask. "I promise Jess. I'll miss you best friend" he says. "I'll miss you too dork" I reply, smiling to myself. "Bye" "Bye Luke"

*End Flashback*

That was the last time I ever heard from Luke. He hasn't texted or called once. He was supposed to call me when they got there, tell me what L.A. was like, and what they came up with for their band name. Never got that phone call. Ive tried calling and texting multiple times but it always comes back with 'this number is no longer in service' Ive tried looking them up but nothing ever comes up. So I finally gave up. I'm done trying to contact him, when he could care less about contacting me.

I hear the doorbell ring & run downstairs to be greeted by my best friend. "Whats wrong Jessica?" she asks. "Nothing, just been thinking about Luke lately" I reply. "You are so stupid for not telling him how you felt before he left." "What if he didnt feel the same? Then what? It would of just been awkward. Its whatever though, I'm over it now" I state. "Obviously not, I can tell" she argues back. "Can we just let it go? Let's go upstairs and jam out to One Direction while we finish packing!" I say excitedly. "Sounds like a plan !" she replies. I hate to admit it, but she's right. I'm not over it. Ive had a crush on Luke ever since we became best friends in year nine. But I always kept it to myself until last year when Maddie found out. She flipped her lid but I told her not to say anything and she promised she wouldnt.

I try to push the thoughts of him to the back of my mind and run upstairs to my room to find Maddie already jamming out to Midnight Memories.
