2. Red Strings of Fate

Start from the beginning

"I'm not going anywhere, Damian." Raven ran her fingers through his hair gently, stroking his hair. Trying to sooth him as well as herself. Being rather sensitive towards energy in general, she could feel his overwhelming emotions alongside with her own. She was happy, that it wasn't just one-sided like she feared. She was pleasantly surprised of Damian's feelings for her. The situation changed so drastically for the both of them, who were supposed to be sworn enemies, yet their hearts yearn for each other. Fate definitely played its cards well, regarding the both of them. The proud prince of Al-Ghul, and the princess of darkness. Their tale has barely begun. Damian pulled back from her after a while. His gaze was no longer expressionless and cold; he was looking her like she was the most precious thing in his life. He leaned his head against the palm of her hand, smiling at her. Who would've thought he had this side of him? "The great, almighty prince of Al-Ghul, has this side of him too?" Raven teased him in a playful way, making Damian blushed and smiled sheepishly. She couldn't help but to giggle at his reaction, it was so adorable the way he blushed; like a teenager that fell in love for the first time. Damian would reach out to pinch both of Raven's cheeks in return, chuckling at her question.

"And who would've thought the Al-Ghul prince is so lucky, to be able to get everything he wanted, even his bride to be?" Raven rolled her eyes slightly as she listened to him. Of course, he was known for his arrogance and sharp tongue, he seemed to be a natural at sarcasm as well. She would flick his nose lightly in return as he cleverly avoided answering her question. It also seemed that they are quite alike, character wise. After he pinched her cheeks, his arms would wrap around her waist once more, holding her close. Not wanting to let her go anywhere just yet. Still in disbelief that she said yes to his sudden proposal. If he could marry her right away, he would. And he was sure that she won't question him either. But as a part of the Al-Ghul bloodline, there's so many rules and traditions that he will have to go through before he could officially call her his wife. "Though.. For the proposal gift.. I think a ring, would be rather mainstream, don't you think so, my dear?" Damian smiled at her. It would be a lie if he didn't think that far when it comes to his future wife. Raven looked up at him, surprised. Damian has been surprising her so many times despite their very first interaction, she doesn't know what to anticipate when it comes to the Al-Ghul prince. Damian reached out to the table on the side of the bed, pulling out a box that was crafted with the finest metal, accompanied by precious gemstones to perfect the design. He'd place the small treasure box on her lap and smiled once more at her, gesturing for her to open it. The intricate design of the treasure box impressed her, and she could only wonder just what is it being kept in the box. She nodded to his gesture, grazing her fingertips along the gemstones that was embedded on the cover of the treasure box. Opening it slowly, to see a dagger resting in the velvety cushion of the box. Her eyes widened slightly, as she took the dagger out. Admiring how intricate the crafting, from the handle to the blade of the dagger. What startled her most was the gem that was resting at the handle of the blade; it was a stone from Azarath. The stone glowed when she inspected the dagger the moment the light shone on it. She recognized it right away just from a glance. Just how did he get the stone? Damian was low-key worrying about Raven's reaction once she sees the design of the dagger. She would definitely question the stone. She would surely ask how did he get it and who knows what kind of question she's going to ask. He was more than ready to answer anything that she ask. "Do you.. Like it? I designed this myself, a long time ago. I know that someday I'm going to give this to you. I never thought today would be the day, if I were to be honest." He smiled at her, with no hints of nervousness at all. Worried perhaps, but he was confident that she would accept it.

"So you have been having feelings for me a long time ago, Damian?" She asked him quietly. Analyzing his words and body language. He said a long time ago, which meant he was that confident. That confidence of his is really something, she thought to himself. Yet she wasn't complaining, she could feel the butterflies in her stomach as she adored the dagger that he personally designed and crafted, just for her. She would glance at him, waiting for his answer. When their gazes met, both of them would smile, and then laughed softly. "Or you're able to see the future, or something?" She began to tease him once more. Sticking her tongue at him, only for him to retaliate by leaning close enough to bite her tongue and pulled her close to kiss her once more. Whatever she did to tease him, he never failed to get back at her somehow, it makes her shy. She would pull back from the kiss as she clutched the dagger in her hands, clearing her throat slightly. "Smart. Avoiding my questions again, your Highness?" Damian would smirk as Raven called him 'Your Highness.' No one really dared to sass him or to reply to his sarcasm, she was the first one to do so. He knew that he will never get bored from now on. Raven knows how to make him feel superior, and yet at the same time she knows how to comfort and support him as well. Seeing how Damian didn't answer, she would lean over to kiss his cheek, her cheeks flushed pink as she smiled gently at him. "I will treasure this gift forever. This is the one and only dagger, personally designed and crafted by the almighty prince of Al-Ghul after all." Damian, hearing that, he would lean to kiss her forehead softly, chuckling at her words, looking at her seriously, yet in a sincere manner.

"That dagger symbolizes my pride.. Now that it has found its owner, Raven, you are my pride now. You are my most precious, my one and only. You have long taken the reigns of my heart, and I can't wait for the day where I call you my wife. I can't wait to start my forever, with you."
