Simon sat on the porch. His lip swollen and filling up with blood. He just watched it drip between his feet. Some of his blood splattered onto his sneakers. But, he didn't care. He just sat motionless as he waited for his mother's to come home.
"Simon...?"
His mom pulled up to the driveway with the window rolled down. She stared at him; stared at the blood.
"Oh my God." She unbuckled her belt and practically leaped out the car. "Simon! What happened to you?" She pulled her shirt to his mouth and covered it. "What happened to you?"
"Mom." He said. He began to cry. "I want to move. Please, let me just move."
"Ok." She hugged him even tighter. "ok Simon, we will go. We'll go. No worries." She said rocking him back and forth. "You will be alright. I promise."
Simon couldn't help but hug her even tighter. He cried even louder as it was a good stress reliever for him and he felt right doing so.
Simon was a normal fifteen year old kid at the time. He was constantly bullied because he didn't have a lot of money. His dad was also very abusive to the mother who worked twelve hour shifts everyday while his dad gambled the money away. His mother was afraid to run away because she feared his father would kill them both.
It was a hard life for a fifteen year old. He never got a clean childhood. If he did it was spent crying with his mom or crying alone in his room.
As always, Simon and his mom hadn't moved away, but she had him enroll in a new school called Mountain High View. Their logo was a falcon and he enjoyed the place a lot better and even made a friend named Mikey.
Mikey was loud, but Simon believed he was clever. His girlfriend, Makayla, was absolutely brilliant as well as a stunning figure. The two made a perfect duo. Mikey had always wanted to go to his house. But, Simon told him no Everytime he asked or brought it up. However, Simon was so excited to have friends that he even took Mikey and Makayla to his mother's work. She was tired, Simon knew that, but the smile on her face made him just as happy. For those couple of years, Simon was grateful to have friends for so long.
That was, until they all graduated from high school. Simon, Mikey, and Makayla were eighteen at the time.
Mikey and Makayla broke up, but Simon knew they still loved each other. Mikey had become a total jerk to Simon too. He kept telling him that he was a total loner. And he wouldn't make anymore friends.
Makayla moved away shortly after. It was only a few hours away, but enough for Simon to realise that he was all alone once again. His mother also had the feeling that things weren't working out accordingly. And she felt that it was time to kick him out of her nest. She used a different savings that she had piled up to use for college. It wouldn't set him for life, but it would get him started.
With the help of his mother, he was able to get his own apartment. She decorated it previously and decided to finally surprise him. This made him so happy. That day, he cried because he couldn't take her with him. All her savings had gone to him.
Every other week, Simon and his mother go brunch to catch up. A few weeks later, Simons mom got into a car accident and was in a coma. Simon's content life had turned into rage. It was his dad's drunk driving that caused her to crash. And now, Simon was alone for good. He dropped out of college. Mikey and him went to the same college, but he never said anything that day. Whether or not he heard about his mom's accident, he promised he would never forgive him.
Oddly enough, Simon also began to see figures all around him. He didn't know why they had appeared all of a sudden, but he didn't feel to alone. Yes, they were creepy at first, but he was used to them for now and he didn't mind to much.
