When we were young ( 6 or 7 years old ) I and my cousin I loved to chase butterflies and catch them in pickle jars.
One day we were looking for jars in her kitchen and we couldn't find a jar for me. (We managed to find only one jar and since she was the one to found it was hers to use)
So we were on our way to grandma's house, that was a little up the street, but tragedy struck. My cousin dropped the jar and it was in pieces on the floor.
Being little children we were terrified and we didn't know what to do. And so we panicked. The reason for our stress was that my uncle ( her father, duh) was coming home from work and if he saw this he would flip out. And then a miracle happened. Our Grandma was coming to check up on us and she saw the jar and we explained what happened. She got a broom and cleaned the shards from the ground as we watched her from the dining room. Luckily Grandma didn't tell on us and we never got punished, and that is still a secret of ours to this day...
But a similar thing happened at the start of summer and me and my cousin were talking to our close friend Ellie about Tik Tok boys when Izzy (my cousin) "accidentally" hit a jar of honey on the counter. And now we were left with a similar situation but this time I called Granny and she came and helped us clean the mess. And still, no one to this day knows about our "jar accidents" except me, Ellie, Izzy, Granny and now you do too!
Grandmas are great, right? They help you and love you and take care of you when your parents are at work. I'm so lucky to have grown up (I'm still kinda growing) with such a wonderful family.
