Lilies Of The Valley

Part 1: The Beginning

Lilia had finally scored the perfect job, and the pay wasn't half bad. Plus, one of her bosses was super cute! She wasn't sure if she had got the job because she was the most qualified, or because no one else had applied. It was hard to make a resume when she was applying to become a maid. What was she supposed to put under references or past experience? Nevertheless, she was glad she had a stable job now so that maybe she could start saving and apply to college. She had been disowned for denouncing her parents' religion, and she decided to wait until she was well off to continue her higher education.

Anyways, she just finished her interview but it hadn't gone as she planned. The eldest son of the family had interviewed her, but he seemed cold and distant, and not at all interested in anything she did or said. Francis was definitely handsome, he had a clean and clear cut appearance but the way he had acted was odd. He only looked Lilia directly in the eye, he didn't look away at all throughout the job interview. His stare was mesmerizing and terrifying simultaneously. His eyes glared with intensity, but it looked as if someone had placed a filter over them to make it look this way. Francis seemed as though he had different levels to him, and unfortunately, Lilia had experienced at a rather unpleasant one. Along with Francis's strange manners and gorgeous looks, he seemed to be hollow, and it was impossible to determine if he had a decent personality. Even with all the peculiar happenings around Francis, Lilia couldn't stop her heart from racing at top speeds while she was in the conference room with him. Even though she knew it was wrong, Lilia couldn't stop herself from crushing on him. The questions he asked were mostly standard interview questions: Why do you want this job, How much are you willing to work, Do you work well around others, Do you have other references or connections, and other similar questions. Once Francis had finished interrogating her, he told her she was hired but she had to sign this contract first. Francis then walked out of the room and told her she would start tomorrow at six.

After speaking with him for so long Lilia also felt disconnected. As Lilia skimmed the contract she couldn't help but think of how she had messed up, mostly how she was so nervous she barely spoke and that she didn't correct Francis when he pronounced her name as Lilian. According to the contract Lilia was forbidden from discussing the matters of the family with anyone, even if she resigned.

That's odd, she thought, What could be going on here that needs to be kept a secret?

Lilia had a bad feeling she would soon find out.
