*Maya's pov*

I woke up to a extremely fussy whine. My eyes flew open and I took in my surroundings. Last night I had finished packing, bought a car, and put a cranky baby to bed. My son, Mason, was now nine months old. Most days he was the sweetest and most loving baby in the world but for the past two days he had been very crabby with me.

I got out of bed and walked over to Mason and looked over the crib. When he saw my face he smile and I saw that a new tooth had popped up over night. This was his fourth tooth.

"Was that why you were so cranky with Mommy?" I asked as Mason giggles and raises his arms up for me.

For the past nine months he's all that I've had. But that all changes today. I decided that last week we were going to head back to my pack.

I needed my family back. My parents needed to meet their grandson and my brother needed to meet his nephew.

I quickly changed Mason's diaper and put him into a t-shirt that said 'I love Mommy!', jeans, and mini silver chucks.

I attached the thing that kept my baby close to me and my hands free. Once I finished I lifted Mason off the bed, raised him above my head, and blew a raspberry on his belly. He was thrown into a fit of giggles as I put him in the no hands carrier and kissed his dark curly head of hair.

"Mommy has to just put a few more things in my car and then we can get going to our new home." I said, I was excited to see my family again.

After having Mason I threw myself into exercise, making my body fitter then ever. I also died the tips of my black hair gray to match Magic.

'Oh, Mason is so sweet this morning.' Magic said as Mason clung to my shirt with one hand and reached for my face with the other, seeking my attention as I picked up the last box. It had photo albums of Mason from the time he was in my belly up until yesterday.

'I know. I love him more then anything. even more then...' I trailed off. Knowing that bringing up our mate would only hurt us.

I shoved the box in the left side of the back seat then went to the right and climbed in. I fixed myself so Mason could feed before we started. I fixed myself again, buckled Mason up, and climbed into the front seat. I turned the car on and pulled out of the apartment complex.

In the past eighteen months I had taken care of myself and my son. I bought the one bedroom apartment. I did work from home so that I could take care and love on Mason. But now I wanted to go home...I needed to go home. Isolating myself have been the worse thing I did during this time.

The drive back to my home town wasn't more then a eight hour drive but with wolf hearing and sight I was able to cut the time down to fours. It would've been three except that Mason got fussy and refused to sleep without being fed, burped and read to for an hour. I swear that baby gets more and more like his father everyday, but he would never hurt me in the way his father did.
'Maya, please, don't start thinking about him. He didn't want us and we don't need him.' Magic said.

'Aren't you the one whose should want the mate?' I questioned.

'Not when I feel like he's gonna hurt our little man back there. I hate Henry with a vengeance. We can't let him come near our baby.'

'I won't let him touch a hair on Mason's beautiful head.' I vowed as I passed the old pharmacy close by the pack house.

'Oh, we're almost there." Magic howled in excitement.

As a song came on the radio that both Magic and I liked I turned it up and began to sing, in the mirror I could see Mason had woken up. Good he would get to meet his family with eyes open. Minutes later I pulled to a stop in front of the big pack house.

It hasn't changed since I left. The house was still a deep green and it still looked as if there was need for improvement. I took out the car keys and took three deep breaths. I needed this, Mason needed this.

I got out of the car and went around and took out Mason. Then headed up the stairs to the front porch. I walked to the door and rang the doorbell once, then twice, then a third time.

"Hold on! God, can you just shut up." yelled the crabby voice I knew as my brother's. So just to piss him off I rang the doorbell a ton more times. The door was soon yanked open and Mason stared up at my brother and started crying.

"What the hell do you want?" he yell, not even looking at me.

"Well, maybe if you loose the attitude I'll let you know, big bro." I said, smirking and trying to sooth Mason.

"Oh, my God, Maya! is it you?" he said, not even waiting for a answer before pulling me into a big bear hug.
"Yeah, but you might want to let go of me. You're crushing your nephew." I said, smiling.

"What are yo-" he started, then pulled away and looked down. "No way!"

"Mark what's going on? Whose at the-?"my mother said, stopping the second she saw me.

"Maya? Baby girl, are you really back?" Mom asked.

"Hi, Mom, I have someone I want you to meet." I said, looking down at a squirming Mason and smiled.

"M-Maya, can you explain what your telling us?" Mom asked.

"Where's Daddy? We'll all talk in the living room so I can feed my hungry little man." I said.

"He should be down any minute. He's finishing up Elder business with an Alpha." Mom said, smiling proudly for her husband.

"Daddy's an Elder now? Mark's Alpha? Maria's Luna? Where's Maria?" I threw out questions.

"Bitch, where have you been? For over a year you've been gone--" Maria stopped mid sentence and stared at Mason in my arms. "Give him to me!"

I let her take him out of my hands and watched as she cooed at Mason. She was a natural mommy, like me. Mason was my world. I loved him to bits and so did Magic.

"What's going on down here? You know when I have Elder business to be silent." Daddy said, sternly but his voice held some humor in it. I could see a tall figure standing behind him.

"Hi, Daddy," I said, raising forward into his arms. His arms tightened as he pull me to him.

"Oh, baby girl, where have you been?" he asked. As if to make himself known, Mason started to cry.

I let go of my dad and took Mason out of Maria's arms.

"Are you hungry, Mason? Does Mama need to feed you?" I asked. "If we can sit somewhere while I feed Mason I'll explain everything." I said leading the way to the living room. I sat curled up in my favorite recliner. I covered myself with Mason's blanket and fixed myself so that he could feed.

"So, what's happened in the passed eighteen months, Maya?" Mark asked.

"The night before I left we went to a party, remember?" I asked. Everybody nodded. "Well, that night I found my mate. We mated that night and the fallowing morning he rejected me. I couldn't understand anything I was feeling. Two months later I found out that I was pregnant. My pregnancy was rough but seven months later I brought Mason into the world. For the past nine months he has been my everything." I told them a quick version.

Then I felt an extra presence in the room shift. The air brought a scent that I craved too much. The scent of ocean and woods.

"You had my son?" Henry growled.
