"Yes, my sister loved our tribe, but she wanted to explore, so I became chief instead of her. She is quite the firecracker, isn't she?" The Chief laughed.

"She sure is but makes lovely dresses. I'm afraid I never caught your name?" Sophie asked awkwardly.

"Chief Blake, but call me Blake. No need for formalities between two leaders." Blake introduced. Sophie smiled but continued to stare at Blake for a short while. It seemed Blake didn't identify with either gender, and Sophie was trying to figure out pronouns without having to ask, but she eventually caved.

"If you don't mind me asking, what are your pronouns?" Sophie asked nervously. Blake smiled widely, finding Sophie's awkwardness quite cute.

"They, them, I appreciate you asking," Blake said, obviously not bothered. Sophie let out a breath and nodded, making sure to make a mental note of Blake's pronouns. Blake, Sophie, Sun, and the small amount of other Lith turned in front of the Gala, and Sophie tensed in her spot.

"How are we going to do this?" Blake asked Sophie, giving her control of the situation.

"I need to enter the Gala with you, have you introduce me, so no one is suspicious of me, and then create an excuse or distraction of some sort so I can sneak away to examine the rest of the building. Most of the assassins are going to be in the actual party, but Nour and I are going to investigate the rest of the building. Sun and a few other spies are going to sneak into the kitchens and test everything for Oxalite, make sure the food and drinks are safe." Sophie explained. Blake nodded in understanding, and their face lit up.

"I have an idea about that distraction. Follow me; you will know that distraction when it comes." Blake said. Sophie nodded and looked among the Lith, following Blake up the steps. Blake radiated power and leadership, and as they entered the room, everyone turned to look at them.

"Introducing Chief Blake, and their right hand, the blind warrior Lilliana!" Someone beside them introduced as the Lith started down the stairs. Lilliana, that was Sophie's fake name that Maria made for her, she had to make sure to use it. Sophie's eyes scanned through her blindfold at the crowd in front of her. She could see them fine, but they had no clue who she was; the giant horns resting on her head seemed to help hide her identity.

"Chieftain Blake, I am going to do a survey of the perimeter," Sophie said officially as they hit the end of the staircase.

"Okay, Lilliana, you know when I will need you," Blake said, following Sophie's lead. Sophie nodded and set out through the crowd. Sophie surveyed everything she could, people's clothing, possible weaponry, misleading behavior. Sophie couldn't find anything, and as relieved. Sophie passed Mansi, who was going under the alias of Selena, who she never even met eyes with. They both knew that when they were here, they weren't friends, and they didn't know one another. Mansi's eyes fell on someone in the corner of the room, and Sophie turned to see what she was looking at.

Biana.

"What the fuck is she doing here?!" Sophie transmitted. None of her old friends were supposed to be here.

"The edgy one and the blond are here as well." Nour transmitted back. Sophie groaned internally, knowing her job was only getting harder and harder.

"I'm going to talk to her." Mansi transmitted, walking to Biana.

"Mansi, are you insane?!" Sophie transmitted.

"You and Nour are going to be scouring the rest of the building, and we should keep eyes on them. Besides, she is going to be my sister in law soon; I want to get to know her." Mansi said, striding over to Biana. Sophie was about to argue, but she realized she was right. Having her spies actually in the party, keeping an eye on her old friends would make her old job easier.
