Curling up on the bed my brother was sleeping peacefully. There was an ironic tranquillity all around. 4 days!! It's being 4 days since he is having a fever.
Though not too serious, still watching a lively guy sleeping all day did create a tensed environment. And maa being maa added all the spices needed to make it look scarier. Surprisingly, this time my baba also was tensed given the fact that since he is studying in Kolkata where dengue is becoming a common threat. Amidst all these, watching their care and love I once again thanked God for blessing us with another set of living God as our parents.
Initially, after trying all the immediate medication which can be given, that evening I thought of using some Indian natural homemade strategy. And the internet- the king of knowledge, helped me to get hold of the perfect recipe to make the kadha(a type of juice made by boiling all the needed herbal items in water) the basic items being Tulsi(basil leaves), pepper and ginger.
Informing my parents about the newly gained knowledge, I ran to collect the Tulsi leaves from the pot in my balcony which is every day being worshipped as tulsi maa. Just as I was about to pluck the leaves, my mother's voice came roaring "Naa Khusboo, Akhon naa.."(no Khusboo, not now...) accompanied by my father's "chole ai bolchi..."(come back...). Then the age-old teaching came floating in my mind "Rate gach dhorte nai sona, tar kosto hoi je..."(we should not touch the plant at night, it get hurt).
Why?? I don't know but still, this firm believe of their's make me stand by the concept all over again. The resonance of their love for the plant was the same as that for ours. It dint evaporate at that time too, when they knew this can give their beloved son some amount of relief.
