Chapter 3 : Health class

- You is a dork.

- No, I'm not, you is!

- You really think it's worse than jail.

- It was a damn joke, if you don't have humor, it's not my fault.

The two redheads sat in front of them, all the other tables occupied, Beverly in front of Jane and Max in front of Melissa. Bev gave a small smile to them while Max completely ignored them.

- What's up Miss Hills? asked Jane.

- Oh, uh...nothing special...answered Bev giving a quick look to Max who rolled her eyes. It's your first class, you're not stressed?

- We should? frowned Melissa.

- I...I don't know...I hope not...

- So reassuring, mumbled Jane.

Bev pouted and turned again to her friend. Max was boiling inside, she was holding so tight her pen that she thought she was going to break it! She couldn't stand them and she had to spend an entire hour in front of their stupid faces, it was too much!

- What's wrong Grumpy? You had a bad night? Your pal had a spineless wiener? asked Jane with a light mocking tone.

- Shut up Goblin, I told you to not talk to me! grumbled the redhead between her teeth.

- God, you gonna explode! chuckled Melissa.

Max was going to answer but Bev stopped her by placing her hand on her arm and lightly shacked her head to say no. She knew they were provoking her just to get her mad, and was thinking it was totally disrespectful and stupid. She gave them a dark glare, but the two girls didn't seem to care. Jane looked at her with a "what!?" look, but nothing more. The redhead shacked her head in disbelief and looked away.

- Hi, everyone, greeted the teacher, entering the room.

The man began his usual speech of first time in his class before giving them a work to do in team. They had to find all the different addictions they knew. Max wasn't really happy to have to work with the two girls, she hoped they wouldn't participate and let her and Beverly working alone.

- So, what do you think? asked Bev.

- We can put everything like drugs, alcohol, tobacco...began Max.

- Sex, intervened Jane.

The two redheads stopped talking to look at her.

- What!? It's true! We had one like that.

- Oh yeah, Jess! added Melissa who just remembered.

- Um...ok, frowned Bev.

- It's funny that the first thing you think is sex, a bit pervert, don't you think? stated Max.

- You already told the others, even if it was a bit too easy.

- Oh, I'm sorry, we are not all expert in addiction, but please, enlighten us! said the redhead with an upset tone, leaning on her chair and crossing her arms.

- Well, I were not telling you is wrong, but drugs is a bit fast as answer, I mean, there are lots of different drugs.

Bev and Max waited a moment before realizing she had finished.

- That's all!? winced Max. You cut us to just tell that!?

- I wanted to participate but apparently my answer is not good enough for you, replied sharply Jane.

- Indeed, you could have just shut your damn mouth instead!

- What's your problem with me!? I tried to be nice with you but you keep take me down! I wanna know why!
