It seemed evident to Jeanette that things were about to get a whole lot worse. And when Miss Wren announced that Miss Peregrine was about to turn back, her heart began to pound. She had a feeling something was going to go horribly wrong and she didn't like it. And when the bird changed back, it was not the kindly ymbryne who stood there, but the face of someone she never wanted to see again. She had had nightmares about this and now that it was coming true she wanted to scream. Noticing her discomfort, Enoch took her had and pulled her to the back of the group.

His blank white pupils stared at them all as the rest of the group tried to figure out what had gone wrong. And then, very slowly and very calmly he spoke. "My name is Caul and you are all my prisoners now."

Everyone began shouting at once, Miss Peregrines peculiars were outraged, how dare he trick them, and what had he done to Miss Peregrine?

"Your ymbryne is safely in our custody." He replied calmly. "We kidnapped her ages ago, on YOUR island."

"You will not get away with what you have done, not this time." Jeanette spoke up angrily, he laughed condescendingly.

"I will Jeanette darling, Ethan has been a big help to me." He smirked as he began telling them about his men going to the menagerie and his plans to stuff dear Deirdre.

"You're a monster!" Alice exclaimed as she hung tightly onto Leo's hand.

Caul laughed. "Well, yes. And my men should be surrounding us any moment."

"Oh he's right." Miss Wren fretted as she peeked out of the window.

Caul began to laugh, sounding nothing short of a maniac, the lights flickered and then went out. Jeanette felt herself being pulled away from Enoch, she tried to hold onto his hand, but couldn't and let go, screaming his name as she attempted to get away from her captor. She began to panic, exerting her peculiarity at an enormous rate, expelling all of her energy, getting nowhere and vaulting deep into the chasms of unconsciousness.

"Ethan." Ethan looked up from where he was building an igloo from frozen pencils at the man he despised the most. Caul had tricked him, and he resented it.

"What?"

"I have something for you." Caul replied, throwing him a key, which was heavy, made from iron and would unlock the cell made specially for one particular peculiar.

"If you've-" Ethan cut himself off in rage, he could barely speak he was so beside himself with emotion.

"Your little friend will be fine." Caul yawned then he smirked. "At least eventually."

Ethan shot him a glare and raced out of the room, chanting one name over and over.

The cell was apart from all of the others, almost the other side of the building and Ethan was just praying the inevitable hadn't already happened.

It had.

The cell was built especially for those with telekinetic power. It contained a helmet of iron spikes that would be fitted loosely enough so that the individual could stop it from touching their head, but tight enough so that if they stopped using their peculiarity to stop it, the spikes would be rammed into their head.

"No, Leo!" Ethan struggled to unlock the door to the cell as he regarded the boy passed out upon the floor, blood running from his head, where the metal was firmly rammed into his head. "Leo! Talk to me, please talk to me." Ethan finally got into the cell and unlocked the helmet, trying not to hurt him anymore as he took it of his head. Leo did not move, what had happened, Ethan wasnt sure, but what he did know was that he wasn't going to leave Leo there. "We'll find the others I promise, but only when you're okay."

Try to be gentle, and noting he was a deal stronger than he had been, and that Leo had lost a lot of weight on their journey to London, Ethan carefully lifted Leo off the floor, taking him to his quarters so he could take care of him. Allowing this was probably the only decent thing Caul had ever done, but what the wights plans were for the other peculiars, Ethan didn't dare think about.

Leo had not stopped bleeding, in the two hours since Ethan had rescued him, they'd already gone through four towels. When the bleeding finally ceased, Ethan began to worry about other things. Leo had lost a lot of blood, and had become increasingly pale and clammy. It terrified him, he was no healer, no doctor, just a complete and utter idiot. It was his fault, he had done this, and it was high time he began fixing his mistakes. But first he had to make sure Leo was okay, if he had taken him with him like he planned, none of this would have happened, but instead he'd nearly killed him, and allowed this to happen.

It was time he stopped making mistakes, and finally stood up for himself, and kept a promise to his family of course.
