• Chapter Twenty-Eight •

Start from the beginning

Throughout my whole speech, I refused to look Abel in the eye. So, when I finally decide to look at him, all I see is anger.

Of course he's angry, there's no way he wanted to listen to my childish insecurities. At this point, there's no stopping the onslaught of tears that roll down my face.

"Keziah, look at me." His gruff tone is what makes me turn towards him.

His eyes have turned that stormy blue colour that's currently shining with such intense emotion.

"You have absolutely no reason to feel this way. I don't care about the stereotypical view of beauty because when I look at you, I see everything I want and more. And there is no way at all that you're unworthy and I hate that you think that. You're so amazing Keziah, and you need to understand that. To me, you're beautiful."

The next thing I know, Abel is cradling my face with his hands and kissing my tears away.

Each time his lips touch my face, he whispers different things to me.

"You're so gorgeous." Kiss.

"And funny." Kiss.

"And caring." Kiss.

He finally kisses all my tears away but that doesn't stop him. And who am I to object?

"You're so so feisty." He moves to my temple.

"I love it when you argue back at me." To my jaw.

"You look so adorably hot."

He drags his lips down my face onto my neck making me giggle slightly.

"And you're loving." He moves to my collarbone and nibbles.

"But violent." I hit him slightly making him laugh but hold me tighter.

"Do you understand," He wraps some of my hair around his fingers. "That I love your hair."

"And your laugh." He moves back to my collarbone making me giggle. "Even though it sounds funny."

"I absolutely love your body." He squeezes my hips. "Especially how it looks in my clothes."

He slowly moves down my shoulder and pushes the hoodie out of the way. "They make you look so sexy." My breath hitches at his statement. "Not that you need my clothes for that."

"You need to know," He moves back up my neck. "That I love how you have to stand on your tiptoes to hug me." He sucks on the exposed skin. "It's so very cute."

I run my hands through his hair and tug slightly at the curls.

I feel him smile against my neck, "I love it when you do that." He moves his lips back up to my jawline, to my cheeks and then to my ears. He bites the tip slightly making me moan out loud.

"The way you're affected by me when I do things like this." He kisses my temple and leaves trails to cheeks. "Your sounds, your responses, your touches."

He finally makes his way to my lips and brushes against them once before mashing them together. At this point, I'm completely floating on cloud 9; I can't form any coherent sentences. All I see and feel right now is Abel.

He places his forehead back on mine, his eyes dilated and hooded with desire. I reach out to touch his swollen lips, completely enthralled by him.

"And your lips Brown Eyes. I can't get enough. They're so soft." Kiss. "And sweet." Kiss. "And perfect for me."

He leans back to look at me straight in the eye, both of us still breathing heavily from what just occurred.

"But do you know what I love the most?" He cradles my face with both hands and looks over every feature on my face. "It's that you're you."

Right now, I'm filled with so much emotion that I might burst. I couldn't even put into words the way he makes me feel; the way I feel now. Never in a million years would I have thought that I'd be sitting here, listening to someone like him point out every single thing they love about me. It makes me so incredibly happy. But Abel obviously isn't done yet because what he says next surprises me but fills my heart with nothing but joy.

"I'm so lucky to have the chance to know you. I want you in my life and I want to be the one who makes you happiest."

Abel swallows deeply and licks his lips.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

A tingling feeling spreads throughout my body. Is that what he really wants?

Abel looks conflicted and tugs on his hair out of what I presume to be nerves.

Finally, I throw my arms around his neck and hug him tightly. "Of course Abel." I lean back slightly but still keep a hold on him. "I was wondering when you were gonna ask me."

"Really? I was waiting until I thought it was a good time. And for you to be ready."

"Either way, I'm glad you asked."

Abel smiles down at me tenderly, "Me too Brown Eyes."
