"Nah, only when they're being difficult. It gets them to sleep quicker."
"Well I think that's so nice of you. You sure love them a lot huh?"
Abel smiles tenderly, "I do, even if they can be extremely annoying at times."
"I know the feeling."
We head back up to his room, and I jump on his bed intending to simply relax. Obviously, Abel has other ideas.
"Hey, uh Keziah, do you want to go for a drive?"
For some strange reason, he seems nervous. This completely contradicts his usually confident personality.
Nevertheless, I decide to go with him knowing there's no harm.
I quickly put on my shoes and take my belongings with me since I'll be going home afterwards.
Before leaving, I head to the living room to say goodbye to Abel's parents.
"Bye Mr-uh Titus and Adah. Thanks for having me." It's going to take me a while before I remember to call them by their first names. It's kind of weird.
"You're leaving so soon?" Adah Asks me.
"Yeah, Abel wanted to take me for a drive somewhere I guess."
Adah and Titus share a knowing look,
"Well have fun dear! Remember, you're welcome here anytime."
I leave the living room and walk to the front door where Abel is waiting for me.
He's changed into some grey tracksuit bottoms and a snug fitting jumper.
As he turns around to walk outside, my eyes accidentally drop to his backside. And boy let me tell you what a good butt it is. There's just something about grey joggers or even grey trousers that does it for me.
Moving on-
"So where are we going?" I put on my seatbelt while Abel starts the car.
"You know the cliff I took you to a while back?" I nod at him, "Yeah there."
"Oh. Any particular reason?"
"I just thought it would be nice to spend some time with just us two."
"Okay." I whisper.
About 25 minutes later, we arrive at the cliff top and make our way closer to the edge.
As we sit down, a thick blanket is draped over my shoulders.
I look over to find Abel smiling warmly at me. "Don't want you getting sick now do we?"
"How so very thoughtful of you."
We both look over the illuminated town before Abel speaks up.
"Earlier, after we left the pool, you suddenly went quiet. What was wrong?"
I look at him in shock, surprised that he saw that. I thought I hid it well.
"You're surprised I noticed that aren't you?" He smiles softly at me, "I notice everything about you."
I start to bite my lip out of nerves and play with my hands.
"I haven't always been confident about how I look, like my um body. It's really easy to get caught up in the stereotypical view of what society and guys deem to be attractive and when I look at myself, I don't see anything desirable." I take a deep breath and hold back the tears threatening to fall. "And then when I see you looking like an absolute model, it just made me feel I don't know, unworthy."
