The Silent Forest

Awakening

Andrew awoke in the middle of the forest in the middle of nowhere, but something didn't seem right...The trees, they were black and decaying, rotting in an endless loop. The forest itself was dark, as if it was after dusk, making it harder for him to see just exactly where he was. He tried yelling out for help, only to realize nothing was coming out of his mouth. Only silence. Now that he thought about it, the forest itself was entirley quiet, not a single sound could be heard anywhere. This only terrified Andrew more, not being able to yell for help, or being able to hear anything approach. He stood up and looked around for anything, noticing a note on the ground, semi hidden in the tall grass. He picked it up and read it, "You have three hours to escape the forest or your soul will be lost forever." This now made Andrew's heart race. He looked around, he could have sworn that he saw a pair of glowing eyes off to the distance. Maybe he wasn't alone? He wasn't gonna stick around to find out. So Andrew picked a direction and started to speed walk, keeping an eye out for anything that could be an exit or another person within the forest. Suddenly he hears what sounds like someone whispering not far from where Andrew stood. Impossible, he can't even hear his own breathing, how can he hear someone whispering? Unfortunatley he can't tell what it was saying, almost sounding latin or some sort of gibberish. Again, he wasn't gonna try to figure out what it was and kept moving. After a few minutes, Andrew started to notice the forest looked like it was repeating, which was odd because he was traveling in a straight line, he could not have been traveling in a circle. He also noticed a strange feeling, as if he was being followed. He swears he could see a tree beast like creature moving out of the corner of his eye, accompanied by a deep low quiet growl. He decided to chalk it up to his imagination, or his mind playing tricks on him and continued to speed walk away into the dark. Little did he know, his trial had only just begun.
