no friends

After the bell of the small elementary school rang, kids of all ages ran outside with the excitment of the weekend rushing through their veins. It was Friday and everyone was excited. while some kids ran to their parents, others hopped onto the bus and those who lived close by walked in groups to their homes whether it was with friends or siblings and that's what three 9 year-olds did, the children being best friends Gadget, Knuckles and Amy.

"You guy's are comin to my house right?" Amy asked as they walked on the sidewalk leading to their homes. "My mom's makin cookies and letting me stay up late, we can watch Adult Swim if we do it in secret that is."

"Oh sure, i think my mom'll let me." Gadget replied being in between of the shorter pink hedgehog and the taller red echidna.

"Same here." Knuckles said. "I'll bring my fnaf pajamas and all my Spongebob dvds so we pretend we're watchin 'em."

The three friends giggled excited for Amy's sleepover, the happiness of childhood was always fun but the noise of running footsteps behind them and a familiar voice yelling "Hey guys, wait for me!" made the three best friends groan and stop in their tracks.

Knuckles, Amy and Gadget turned around annoyed by a panting Jackle. It was Infinite, no one liked him. He had powers to create illusions with his mind, had the abilty to float and other things that the whole school saw as strange pretty much avoiding him or picking on his quirkiness.

"Hey i heard you guys are havin' a sleepover!" Infinite happily said after catching up to his breath, the boy was so desprate for friends he'd draw himself into conversations. "Can i come?"

"Why should we let you?" Knuckles sneered with crossed arms. "I though your 'parents' didn't let you watch big kid shows."

"It's my mom that doesn't let me see that stuff but my dad's pretty chill." The young jackle stated. "So as long as i stay quiet it'll be okay."

"Listen Infinite, you can't come okay," Amy sighed trying to make this sound as nice as possible. "It's a three people sleepover fitting in a forth wouldn't make any sense. My mom made cookies for three people and i only have two sleeping bags and i called the bed."

"Hey it's okay," Infinite said. "I don't even like cookies and i can sleep on the floor."

"Just scram Infinite we don't want you!" Knuckles yelled, he just wanted him gone. It wasn't his sleepover but he didn't want Infinite in it.

"I thought you guys would say that which is why i made this." After saying that, Infinite slips off his Bakugan backpack grabbing it by the red straps and pulls his other hand inside only to take out a creature that made the three amigos gasp in both shock and disgust.

"What is that thing!" Gadget shreiked.

"It's a cross between all my favorite animals; a panda, a kitty and a hedgehog." The beaming Jackle replied. It was a strange small illusion created all by himself, it wasn't real but to him it seemed so. The animal was small enough to fit in his hand, it twitched every so often and blinked one eye at a time.

"It's disgusting get it away!" Amy shrieked before running away to her home, Gadget and Knuckles followed her running as well leaving Infinite to sigh and watch them run into the distance.

"Fine, leave! I don't need you!" Infinite screamed, the strange animal hybrid disappeared due to his sudden saddness. "If i wanted a friend, i could just make one!"

But he didn't want to do that, he wanted an actual friend to sit with at lunch and play with during recess, a friend to hang out over the weekend and share snacks with as they hung out at his home and watched saturday cartoons with. But Infinite could only dream. Tears formed in the young jackle's eyes before he snapped his fingers and teleported to his home.
