Eldritch. That name...

It brings ill luck and news unto any individual who happens to stumble upon it. Terrible, unreal things will occur, only visible to the one affected human.
On one account, a man had gone out for his usual evening stroll with his dog. It was just early evening,
6:00 PM. The sky was beginning to darken as the man entered dim lit woods down the road from his home. Slowly, a sinister feeling crept over him, he began feeling extraordinarily uneasy and increasingly unsafe.
It felt odd to him, he had taken this path almost every evening for the longest time, yet this night, it was different.
6:12 PM
Barking. His dog was barking in an unrealistic manner, as if it could sense something ahead.
Slowly the man kept walking, curious to see what forest creature his dog was acting so hostile toward.
Suddenly, the dog pulled its body forward, jerking the leash away from the man, and sprinting down the forest path.
6:21 PM
The man was searching for his dog, calling her name out, whistling, clicking, until the uneasy feeling reappeared.
....Breathing. High pitched, tense, wheezing breathe. Barely audible to the naked ear.
The man quickly felt his muscles tense, and he glanced to his left only to see the carnage.
The body of his dog, pierced through the neck on a low limb. Her eyes milky white and blood flowing from her mouth. The leash wrapped around the tree branch multiple times.
Terror and grief, the man howled out in utter horror as he caught another horrible sight.
Standing behind another tree near his dead companion, a lengthy, slim, bony snapped neck attached to a thin withered dark face stuck out. The creature was unusually tall, almost 11 feet. It's huge slender fingers wrapped around the side of the tree and a crooked white smile curled up, corners of his mouth aligned side by side with his white empty eyes.

Eldritch....
Eldritch....
Eldritch....

The man was frozen in horror, voices of people screaming, squealing, crying the name.

Eldritch...

An eerily cold gust of wind rustled the leaves, and the man shut his eyes with one quick blink.

When his eyes were opened again,
the creature was gone, and his dog was sitting happily next to him, attached to her leash, tail wagging.
