Ryan had been watching her in class for awhile and knew that she would be so worth the challenge. The challenge was going to be getting her to believe that he was interested.
Celia was extremely shy and kept herself isolated most of the time. Sure she had friends and a great sister that she wouldn't live without but in general she just wasn't big on social interactions. She never considered herself worth spending time with. She hadnt even noticed Ryan let alone that he was practically studying her from a distance.
Ryan came up with a plan and he set it into action a few weeks into the semester. He started making sure to say hi to Celia and to sit close to her in lectures. After all with almost all the same classes she should start to notice him if he sits in the same section. He didn't want to rush anything so for a week all he did was smile when she looked his way. Then added a wave and a hey once in awhile. She seemed to realize that he existed but not much more. He had hoped for more. So he made another decision.
Hey. Im Ryan. Are you understanding this class? I mean sure im getting it but like i need a partner for labs and studying. Are you available??
Celia just kinda nodded and said that she wasn't completely sure about this class.
Well heres my info and stuff. Think about it.
She gave him hers and the professor started talking.
Next week he got a text asking when he was available to review for the next lab.
Ryan grinned to himself. Finally!
