One year has passed since the death of my master. Everytime I think about it my anger is always directed to myself. For awhile I felt ashamed to even call myself my masters diciple.

Though that always changes whenever this little brat, Zhen, looks at me. Through my whole depressed nature, this kid brings me out of it.

No matter what I must protect him.

I lick my fangs gently as I yawn, my gloved hand grasping the much smaller one. Zhen was only eight. I would hate myself if I put my feet in his.

I glance down to him smiling, he was brave. Much braver than I could be. He took his father's death as a sign to get stronger. I'll help him achieve that goal.

"Are you hungry? Zhen?" The said boy perks up looking at me With his doe eyes, the childlike and innocent face always makes my heart swell.

"We're in the middle of the woods where could we possibly find food?" The little rabbit questioned me, I chuckle softly patting his head. "You have to know where to look zhen. Its one way of getting stronger. Refining your senses and awareness."

He looks concentrated, brows scrunched up and biting his bottom lip trying to understand. I look up checking my surroundings, slowly I uncover the veil around my straw hat, I point to the ground right below me.

"Here. Dig in the snow right here zhen." This confused the boy, his look told me everything. I chuckle shaking my head as I gently dig into the snow, a patted down berry bush left behind from a bear probably, is revealed.

"Ha lo-" Not even able to finish my sentence the boy jumped at the sight, pure excitment shown in his eyes. My own, softened as I watched him eat, he reminded me so much of my childish master.

"Eat up little rabbit. Ill go hunting tonight for you." Zhen frowned at this, he looked up chewing on multiple berries, there might even be about 20 in his mouth right now. "Donsh ych huag tuh eash?"

Rolling my eyes I shake my head smiling. "I dont eat. You know im a demon zhen. Demons are known for eating humans. I dont eat them. I gain my energy when I cultivate." Zhen looked at me, once again curious as he smirks, "cultivate? Is that something strong people use? Can you teach me!"

This kid. Always trying to get stronger. I kneel down and shove 20 more berries into his mouth to shut him up. "Once you get older I will. You're too young now and it might damage your sword spirit. We'll be focusing on the basics like we always have."

For the past three years I have taught him the three basic styles of the Breath of Blades. Personally, I knew my master wouldnt want me to teach his kid everything at such a young age. I respect his wishes.

Soon enough we were walking up a mountain of snow, we heard fighting up ahead, I quickly snatch the young brat and put him on my back, under my veil.

I swiftly kick off the ground and land in the trees, jumping from branch to branch. Landing on a sturdy one I kneel down to watch the fight. Zhen watching in amazement over my shoulder.

A young boy, maybe around 13 being attacked by a demon. I frown and sigh shaking my head dissapointed.

"Demons dont have to eat humans."

The young boy caught my eye, and gasped as he struggled with the strength of the demon.

"H-help! M-my sister! She..she turned into a demon!"

I jump down, zhen on my back, the veil was dark enough to hide him and myself. I lift the demon off him easily. Holding her a few feet away from me, I help the young kid up frowning sadly.
