We were running through the meadow. I could hear him laughing as he chased some birds, dragging me along with him. I could feel the warmth of the sun on my face, the tickling of the grass on my feet, the whistling of the wind. I felt bliss.

Then, it started fading.

"Wait! What's happening! Wait!" I called out, my hands reaching out, as if trying to grab hold of something, anything. I didn't want that moment to end. I wanted to stay in it forever.

And suddenly there was darkness.

.

.

.

"Call the doctor! Hurry! I think she's finally waking up! Rion! Rion! My baby! Please open your eyes! Please!" I heard a woman's voice sounding frantic, screaming.

Was that Mother?? No way, that can't be.

No and there wasn't anything dramatic really. I didn't have to try to force my eyes open. I just opened them. But oops, let's not forget about the pounding headache that was starting to make itself known.

The first thing i saw was blinding light, as if someone had shone a torchlight right into my eyes.

"Urgh," I groaned, and tried to use my right hand to shield them. Well, keyword being tried. Someone was holding onto my hand tightly, and refused to let if go even as i tried to tug it. And as i looked over, i saw that that a man who couldn't be more than 30 was the reason for this. His pitch black hair looked as if someone had ran over it countless times, his black suit that he was wearing was crumpled as if it hadn't been changed for a very long time, and there was some stubble growing on strong jaw. But even these could not disguise exactly how beautiful this man was. His deep sea green eyes, full of relief,  was intently scanning my face, as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing. His perfectly shaped mouth agape.

Okay, can i just say creepy? It's not like I'm some alien.

"Rion! Thank God you're awake!" My mother came into view, her hazel eyes that i had inherited was filled with tears.

Mother is crying? CRYING? Am i dreaming? Who and what has this person done to the ice queen who never gave a shit about me?

I looked around the room, and apart from the creepy suit man and my mother, I spotted my father, my two best friends Elise and Kingsley standing at a corner.

"What happened?" I managed to croak out, though my throat felt like sandpaper.

"Honey, don't you remember? You were in an accident." My father's soothing voice chocked up, as if he too wanted to cry but was controlling himself.

"Accident? Really? So I'm in a hospital?" I quizzed, furrowing my eyebrows. The last thing i remembered was the meadow. With Cameron. Speaking of Cameron, where is that guy? If i had an accident, he should be the one here holding my hand, not this weird beautiful stranger who must be the doctor. Man, when he gets here he is so going to get it.

Just as i was about to question them on it, Kingsley bounced over. "Girl! You had us so worried! What are you, sleeping beauty? Don't ever give us such a fright again!"

I laughed. Or croaked up a sound that sounded like a laugh. That's so much like Kingsley. Always making me smile even through the hard times. No one could match up to his sense of humor. Or his level of gayness.

"Speaking of which, where's----"

I was interrupted however when an greying old man carrying a clipboard opened the door.

"Miss Sanders, how are you feeling?" He asked while walking over to my left bedside. "Fine, apart from this horrible headache. Why am i even in the hospital in the first place? And please, call me Rion. Rion Gover. Not Sanders. I took my father's name, not my mother's." I corrected him, not wanting to have him continue calling me by my mother's last name, least she started getting angry. There was a loud gasp and a thud which was my mother crumpling on the floor.

What's wrong with her? Wasn't she the one who told me to always use my father's last name as i wasn't "fit" to use her's? Why is she being so emotional today?

"Well then Rion. Do you remember the accident?"

"If i had i wouldn't be asking you, Doctor...."

"Call me Doctor Goh. I'm just going to check your vitals and make sure that you're okay now dear. I'll leave it to your family to fill you in on the details. I'm sure your fiancé wants to spend some alone time with you too."

Fiancé? What fiancé?

"Oh you must be mistaken. Cameron and I aren't engaged yet. Where is that guy anyway? Is he here?" I hesitated. "Was he in the accident too? Is he injured? Where is he?"

The room's atmosphere suddenly seemed to become one of relief to sudden tension. The guy holding my hand seemed to have froze up as well, his hand tightening his grip on mine.

Wait a minute. If that old man is the doctor, then who is this?

Confused, i turned to look at him, my hazel eye staring curiously in his captivating sea green eyes that seemed to have turned a shade darker.

"And who are you?"
