I think it's a dolfin

The first and only chapter

One Saturday when my parents and I were on patrol. I was acting patient for the IRB people when I saw a fin, it was a dolphin surfing a wave. Than another appeared, than another, than another and another until there was six and an unfamiliar fin. I know all the dolphins around here and I've never seen this fin. So I ran up the beach to tell Sean But just before anyone that was listening in could say anything someone on the beach screamed shark! shark! Well how could I have done that, not realise that the fin was a great white sharks fin. I felt really bad but there was no time to morn so I ran up to the trailer so quickly that it felt like my head almost blue off. I shone the shark flags in the air and looked around to see a kid still in the water. I thought gee he's got guts. But then realised a lady standing at the high tied mark crying ( must be his mother I thought). I ran to give the lady the flags and get him but I just thought if his mother can't get him out of the water, than how can I? So the problem must be that he's deaf so I ran in and grab him but just as I've lifted him enough to start walking I see the fin just a metre away. I say don't move ( forgetting he's deaf), we don't, but it's closer now less than half a metre away I start shaking. The waters rippling I start crying there's no point being an easy target he know we're here anyway and what makes it worse is that we are making vibrations that he can feel so I start running but something grabs me I fall but drop the kid before I fall down. It's tugging at my leg and there's nothing I can do. I keep kicking than his mother comes and grabs him leaving me behind and I don't even think about how grateful she is to forget me, leave me be hide to die or drown. I start to stop struggling and I start floating under water than a excruciating pain shoots through my spine than I can't feel my leg than I realise it's gone I start screaming I couldn't breath but I couldn't stop screaming anyway I start swimming until I can touch I was really dizzy so I started doing walking hand stands.
As I started my third one something grabs my good leg and it starts pulling me out of the water when I'm completely out I realise it's dad and Neil in the IRB. I hug my dad so hard and start crying of happiness. As soon as we got to the beach they called the ambulance and wrapped up my leg, I fainted and the rest I heard is that they couldn't see the shark but they closed the beach anyway. I had the rest of my leg amputated off but I know for some reason that it didn't hurt after the operation ( but apparently it was supposed to). I got given two fake legs, one for the beach and one for everywhere else. The mum never said thank you or anything but I all ways knew she wanted to.
Now Tui did you know that I still go to the beach and go in the water and that only one in one hundred ever become shark bait? so it's almost impossible to be shark bait again and if you're afraid of that, that might happen to you as well. Did you know the only reason it happened to me was that I was kind hearted? So I went and saved the boy because if that was me I wouldn't want to be the target and have no idea what's happening until your dead. The boy was only four years younger than you and seven years younger than me, so he was seven. Now your much older than him but scared of the beach but did you know that he was completely calm? Yes he was deaf but he could still see and he could see me crying, he could see the shark. He was very brave. Ok now let's go to the beach.
" But Emily what about you, aren't you afraid of the beach" Tui says.
" No I love the beach no matter what" I say.

At the beach ( everyone's in the water)

"Hey a dolphin and another" Tui says then I say "where" but she points at a grey nurse shark fin than a great white shark fin I scream "run and don't look back" but I'm only talking to Tui all the others that were in the water are now at the bottom of the ocean. The water is turning red with blood. "Wait there's one other person over there! Wait, no he's gone" everyone's dead except Tui and I.

A group of blind people decide to enter the water and the group is pretty large I shake head in disgrace. Tui looks at me I say this is going to be interesting. She just raises her eye brows and breaths deeply. "Ok so what do we do" says Tui. I don't answer, I'm staring into space. The blind people start dropping one by one as a blood bath surrounds them. Before you could just see a red tinge but now it's dark red blood making the water thick. It's not as easy to move now! It stinks, it reaches "why am I still standing here?" I ask myself. I need to save the but I know that I can't I've only one leg, if I do I'll have no leg. I realise that Tui has gone missing. I look around I can't see her, than I look behide me a see a fin a far distance away but close enough to have her. I look under this water I see her being waged around I grab her arms and lift her head out of the water. I put my cheek against her mouth to see if she is breathing. I hold my breath. She is, I feel relief through out my body. Though she is breathing she is still unconscious so I tug really hard and her legs get bitten of so I flip her up side down and carry her in I wrap towels and shirts and bandages around it and drive her to the hospital. They take her in and operate as soon as possible. In the end all the blind people died but we survived now we both have a story to tell to our gran children and to each other.

P.S: this is a curse through out the family so forever more they will go to the beach after the story told to create a new story.
