My Bloody Twin [Short Story]

One

She sat on the wooden stool in front of the mirror and started combing her long straight brown hair gently.

Her name is Maddison Mitchell , a third year college student at Xavier's Academy. She is an introvert and more like a very soft person. She's so soft that she lets everyone bully her.

Another girl entered the room, she looked at Maddison's reflection in the mirror. Maddison smiled at her. This girl is Mein, Maddison's identical twin. She is the exact opposite of Maddison, an extrovert person and hard as diamond. She always saves Maddison in any bad situation from anyone. But, Mein is not attending college, she always just hangs around anywhere and she's the type of nowhere to be seen and will just suddenly pop up out of nowhere. 

Maddison and Mein are very physically identical. It's like they're seeing themselves in the mirror whenever they come face to face with each other.

"What's that on your neck?" Mein asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh... It's nothing" Maddison answered and she covered it with her hair.

"Do not lie to me!" Mein said angrily.

"I told you, it's nothing," Maddison argued.

"You are lying, I was there. I saw it " Mein said.

Maddison turned to Mein who was now standing one foot away from her. Mein smirked.

"Seriously? You just let that b*tch hurt and bully you? Why didn't you fight back?" Mein asked angrily.

"I told you I can't," Maddison sighed.

Mein rolled her eyes. "What a loser", she muttered under her breath.

"Look what you've got, a bruise!" Mein sighed.

"It's just a bruise, it can't kill me".

"What if next time it did kills you? You know why I didn't save your neck this time? Because I want you to learn to fight back! But I guess.... But I guess you never will" Mein said disappointingly.

There was a long silence.

"What if the time has come that I'm gone? Or I'm far away? Who will protect you? Who will save you?" Mein asked while curling her hands into fists. "You're the only one who can protect yourself! I'm not here all the time", she added.

"I'm sorry" Maddison apologized.

"I'm going to get her," Mein said angrily and started to leave.

Maddison immediately grabbed her arm.

"Please no! Please, I beg you. I'm sure she won't do it again" Maddison pleaded.

"She better make sure because I'm really going to kill her," Mein said. "Literally".

"Come on, let's just sleep. It's already eleven" Maddison invited, forcing a smile.

Mein let out a deep breath. "Better, but from now on whoever bully you and hurt you in words or physically I will really really be the devil they will fear in life and death" Mein warned.

"Okay, okay.. let's go to sleep now" Maddison said.

They both laid in their comfy large bed and Maddison hugged Mein.

"I'm sorry Mein, I love you. Goodnight" she whispered.

"That's all right, I love you too. Sweet dreams" Mein replied.
