You're not alone,
I'll be right beside you forevermore,"

After playing the game, we said our goodnights and headed to our rooms. On my way to my room, I took off the onesie because it was burning me alive inside. I then hear the air conditioner turn on and I thank the Lord. Once I reached my room, I started to think.
For some odd reason, I couldn't stop thinking about the last question I asked Logan. Why on earth did I ask him who he liked? He probably doesn't even like anyone - but he does go out. Maybe be has a secret girlfriend... Wait, why am I thinking this? Did I get hit by a car or something?
I groan in annoyance and throw myself on my bed, face first. Without looking up, I feel around for the covers, and once I find them, I cover myself up. Damn, now it's cold. Might as well cover my face too.
I scoot up a little bit closer to where my head is now on a pillow. I smile to myself and giggle a bit because of how comfortable I am. But not to the point where I could fall asleep. Like the little saying, I started to count sheep.
But the funny thing was every time a sheep jumped over the fence, I heard a gunshot.
I bolted up after the 4th gunshot. I look around my room only to find nothing. Just darkness. I knew no one could possibly break in... But I might be wrong.
Am I hearing things? Or were the gunshot real?
I slowly laid back down on my side, holding my breath. After a few seconds, I heard another gunshot. Oh hell nah, fuck this, I'm not about to die. I throw the covers to the side and stand up. To avoid getting noticed, I kept the lights off.
I started to feel my way around until I felt my doorknob. I hesitantly twist it and open the door. I could see absolutely nothing, not even a single light on. Damn it Logan, leave at least a night light on.
I quietly began to feel my way around again in search for the staircase. I knew it wasn't the smartest idea to be doing at this moment, but I have to tell Logan. Hopefully he heard the gunshots and is going to the case.
Just as I was about to take another step, I felt a strong grip grab me by my waist. Before I could scream, a hand was bought up to my mouth.
"Shhh... Carter, it's just me, Prince Charming."
I sigh in relief when I realize that it's Logan's voice. It took me about a minute to realize that his hands were wrapped around my waist and his chin was on my shoulder. I knew that one day I'll get used to this but right now it's really uncomfortable.
"I think the gunshots have stopped," Logan whispered my ear. So he did hear the gunshots too.
I nod my head and sigh. Whoever was the shooter must've left. Although it was still dark, I could feel Logan's arms tighten around me, as if he was afraid to let me go.
"They might come back. Not trying to sound possessive or anything, but it's best if you spend the rest of the night in my room," he whispered. Wait, what? Sleep in the same bed as him? Now that's a big no. I open my mouth but no words come out.
"Don't worry, I'll sleep on the floor. Come on," he says interlocking our fingers together. I hesitate at first but then began to follow him. He leads me down the stairs and then makes a turn. As I hear a doorknob twist, I held my breath.
