Izuku's POV

He never fails to surprise me. Ever since I first saw his skating, it's been an unending chain of surprises. And he has all the gold medals to prove my point. "Todoroki..."

I scroll down on my phone when I come across the news. "Midoria Defeated: Still Needs to Work on Nerves...? I guess it was that bad, huh." I sigh and hang my head down lower as I shut off my phone and continued walking towards the airport. Before I got on I went into the bathroom to call my mom, as promised. The phone didn't get much of a chance to ring because she picked up right away. "Izu-chan, I'm sorry! I'm so sorry..." She trailed off, continuing to apologize while sobbing. "Mom, there's nothing you to be sorry about, this is all my fault." "I'm so sorry..." I hung up as I began crying too. That's not what I needed to hear. I called hoping she'd say something supportive, like "You'll get 'em next year!" or "You're number one to me!"

My thoughts were quickly interrupted by a loud bang on the door. It startled me enough that I let out a high shriek. Embarrassed, I opened the stall door and apologized, not really knowing what was going on. I look up only to find myself starring at the Junior Grand Prix Final gold medalist, Katsuki Bakugo. His intense glare reminds me of why he's called the Russian Punk. He growls and points at me, "OOOOIIIIIII! NERD! Why are you even trying if you keep failing so badly? You can't do anything right, maybe your name should be Deku. You know if you really want to be a pro-skater that badly, there's actually another way. Just pray that you'll be born with talent in your next life and take a swan, dive off the roof of a building." He scoffs at me as he walks away, leaving me shuddering in fear, from head to toe.

*Time skip*

The plane back home to Japan won't be leaving for another 3 hours so I walked over to the bench and sat down when I saw Present Mic rushing over. "Izuku! Don't give up! It's too early for you to retire!" I set my phone down and sigh, "It's not like I've made a decision yet..." He cuts me of with a shower of questions. "What will you do after you graduate from college? Will you still train in Detroit? Izuku! I'm asking how you feel about this! Don't walk away!" He called after me, but I was already too deep in the crowd for him to find me.
