I opened my eyes, willing the code to appear. It fluttered my vision. I scanned it, honing in on a certain pattern. Binary code. It sucked, but it was the only thing I could see. Even with my abilities. See, I was born with this 'power' - if you wanted to call it that. Basically I could scan the 'reality code' from anything and download it into my brain. It had is pluses. Like, one time, I was in calculus and the instructor called on me to answer a question. I had downloaded the entire code that the universe had in its database that pertained to calculus as soon as I was assigned the class, so I was adeqauteley prepared for any question that came my way.
I say born with this ability but I really developed it around my fifteenth birthday. It was awful. It started with migraines. Then I couldn't sleep. Once the pain was over I was having frequent black outs. I'd be walking down the street and pass out cold. They'd never last more than ten minutes though. Then it happened. I saw it. The code, swarming around me. Gnawing at my aura. But that was it. All I could do is see it. Then I focused. Focused on one single pattern and fell unconscious. I was out for three days.
The doctors found nothing wrong with me so they let me go. What they didn't realize is that I knew the ins and outs of my school. All the hidden passageways and secret entrances. I had no idea how. Then I realized it. When I focused on the code, the thing I was looking at behind the code was the schematics for my school. I freaking downloaded something into my brain. After that I practiced and practiced and practiced. I downloaded anything, from the book that I had to read for drivers ed to freaking google. That's right, Google. I can look at something and search it up in my brain.
I had an idea after the google download. What would happen if I tried to download something from a movie into my brain? I was watching Iron Man I. The first movie to kickoff the Marvel franchise. I focused on the arc reactor he made for his chest then BOOM I knew exactly how to make it, how big it was, what I needed, anything. Then I watched any sci-fi movie I could get my hands on. Soon I was a guru on anything that had to do with making tech. I was a walking super computer.
I got good fast, but I wasn't dumb. No one knew and I restricted myself to get a few questions 'wrong' on homeworks and test. Soon I was through with high school and finished college not two years later.
