Distracted By Curiosity

It was Monday, a couple days after the mess, back at school
Luckily he's not as traumatised by the events due to the fact that the outcome was a positive one
But Ed couldn't help but think of that older boy, Leo...
He saved him from that gang. In that moment he thought he was a goner, but that man came along and saved him.
It was strange though
He saw flashes of light
Red, orange, and green if he remembered correctly... like a traffic light or something.
Ed was curious,
He wished he got his contact information or his Instagram handle, but of course, he forgot.

Stupid forgetful memory.

Half of lunch now it's been
His friends were wondering why he seems so spaced out lately
"um, Eddy?" One of his three friends, Jackson, questions. No answer. "Eddy? I'm talking to you" he tries again

"Huh?" Finally a reply

Another friend, Qiu (pronounced kinda like xhu) speaks up "you've been really outta it bro, we had ta call ya multiple times before ya snapped outta it"

"Oh sorry" the distracted boy says

"What has you so distracted, mate?" His third friend Christopher (Chris) asks

"Um..nothing" he hesitates

Ed gets skeptical looks from all his friends but none of them push anymore, much to Ed's relief.

{Moving to how our boy 👦Leo is doing}

Edward. That was all he was thinking of, wondering if he's okay after seeing something so traumatising.
He should've asked for a number, just to check if he's okay.

"Oh my god" he let that thought form into words.
He started to worry
Worry if the boy saw how he helped him, he couldn't help but think if he did, then 'this is bad'
This exposure puts not only Leo in danger but the boy he saved as well

Leo wasn't one to use his powers often, because he knew he was careless when if came to trying to be subtle and stay on a low profile, therefore he only used them when he felt he really had to

You, the reader, are already in chapter two yet you do not know this mans powers

Well
As the the title is called traffic lights his power is kinda like what they signify

That flash of red that Ed saw was Leo freezing the gang, though he can only use this one for a minute or two so Leo does not use it as much as he'd like to, but it still proves to be useful especially when he needs more time to do something. That moment to stop them could change the game.

Next we have yellow/orange
As many know it's originally meant to meant slow down, even though not everyone slows down when that color, anyway, it slows down his opponent (to them he seems to speed up. Signifying the fact that I brought up how not everyone follows that rule)

Finally we had green.
Yeah this is not gonna go with my traffic light reference but green is his power move
For Leo's style of fighting he will use this at the end of his battle, or for when the fight is getting difficult for him.

Back to the story

Leo is more of a lone wolf, even though his one friend, Sam, tries to tell him otherwise
Cause as little Sammy said "look I hang with you all the damn time.. YOU are not a lone wolf,,, just picky with people"
Sure, Sam.

Sam knew of his friends abilities, and Leo trusted them with everything and anything.
He even told his buddy of the encounter with Ed, mentioning how he wished he could find out his contact information to see if he's okay

"I'm just a little worried! It's a traumatic thing to see a guy almost die- well technically I did die,," he continues "almost die because he was trying to save you!!"

Oh no way could Sam miss this chance "oooh you're worried are you?~" they teases Leo

"Ugh" Leo groans, not again "seriously, I know you know a ton of people, please help me!"

"Hmm.." Sam smirks "well.. maybe" they pause for effect "if you do me a favor"

Leo gives them a blank stare "no"

"What! I didnt even say-" sam gets interrupted
"No"

The friend sighs "please, I just want you ask Lily if she's gay or not!"

"What- What the hell?! She's as straight as a bone in someone's arm!!!" He exclaims

"Well-" they stumble for a comeback
"Well! Bones break! So you never know!!!"

He looks over at Sam who is putting up their best puppy eyes "please"
Leo sighs, giving in "fine" before Sam gets a chance to celebrate their interrupted again "but I am not asking in the way you just suggested!"

"Deal!"
