Once I asked the butterfly
What is it that makes you try
Happiness is my aim, it said
Rushing off filled with dreadI wondered why the butterfly
Scampered past the waterfall
That reached high into the sky
Displaying its beautiful mystery to allThe butterfly didn't seem to see
The flower in a sea of green
How unfortunate it must be
To pass by its vivid artistryThe butterfly wished to achieve
To be happy from now on
But it neglected the chance to perceive
It was flying by happiness all along—
I just came across this quote. Apparently there's some debate about who said/wrote it but I believe it goes perfectly with this poem :)
