"Eliza, you know what this could do for us! I already have the apartment rented. It's a two hour drive. Let's go!" My bestfriend, Tuck exclaims. I was sitting in my spinning desk chair at my desk. He was standing in front of me.

"Not happening, Tuck. I've told you already" I say. He throws his hands into the air causing his messy head to brown flowy hair to fling backwards as well.

"You're impossible" He says falling onto my bed.

"No. I'm not going to make a fool of myself in the biggest city to country music. That would be life ruining" I say. He shooks up and kneels down in front of me resting his elbows on my knees.

"Liza, it would be life changing. Deep down you know that. What are you so afraid of?" He asks.

"Tuck, I can't" I say.

"You can. I believe in you, and I don't want to do it alone" He says. I sigh and spin to face my desk.

"I'm scared" I say. He spins me around to face him.

"Remember you were scared at the talent show senior year but won first place? Remember when you were scared for karaoke at the fair but won first place? Nashville is just another notch you can add to that list of firsts. You just have to trust me" He says. I bite my bottom lip, and grab the journal full of songs that I had written.

"How long will we be gone?" I ask.

"However long we need to be" He says. I swallow hard and stand up. He was still on his knees.

"When do we leave?" I ask. He shoots up from the ground and picks me up in his arms.

"Yes! You're not going to regret this" He says and puts me back onto the ground. "Pack up tonight. We leave tomorrow afternoon".

"Will you stat here tonight?" I ask.

"You got it" He says.

I had spent what felt like forever packing a couple suitcases to take to Nashville tomorrow. I couldn't believe we were actually going. Tucker and I have been friends since birth. We've always been next door neighbors, so we grew up together. We grew up singing and dancing and learning instruments all through school, and when we were about 15 or so we started song writing. It was always our dream to be singers. We grew up idolizing Shania Twain, Patsy Cline, Carrie Underwood, and so many more. We wanted to be just like them. Tucker knew I would never try and do it on my own and he always pushed me harder and harder every day. Renting us a Nashville apartment was the ultimate push. I was completely terrified.

Tucker came back over to my house at around 9:30pm. We were both only children, so we always felt more like siblings than anything else. That's why my parents didn't care if he stayed with me. He was more like their son.

"Okay, so I've been reading some and there's quite a few cafes around the apartment complex that I'm renting for us. I say tomorrow we get settled in and explore a bit then hit up an open mic night" He says. He was lying next to me in bed. We were both lying on our backs staring at the poster of Nashville I had on the ceiling.

"We have to go see a show at the grand ole opry one night. That's been our life long goal since we were kids" I say. He chuckles.

"Remember when you cried when you watched that YouTube video of Kelsea Ballerini getting inducted into the Opry? That was funny" He says. I smack him playfully on the chest.

"I was happy for her, so shut up" I say. He turns over on his side to face me.

"One day, that's gonna be us, Liza. I know it" He says. I turn over to face him.

"I hope you're right" I say. He smiles.

The whole night I barely slept. I just kept staring at the poster on the ceiling. Part of me wanted to pull the plug on it, but I knew I would regret it. I knew that going would be such an amazing opportunity for us, and no matter the outcome, I would be glad I went in the end.
